Mechanical Designer / Drafter is responsible for creating Autodesk Plant 3D drawings and construction documents for a wide variety of industrial projects. Based in Blair, Nebraska, the Senior Project Engineer reports to the Engineering & Technology Manager and is responsible for engineering efforts in both the lactic acid and lactates plants, managing capital projects with budgets ranging between $25k to $2MM. Requirements: * Produce accurate capital investment estimates and savings/return evaluations by incorporating various financial scenarios to provide a strong basis for decision making. * Develop the stage gate details for projects to control risk, balanced with the upfront cost to minimize losses due to unfavorable projects. * Utilize best practices of project management throughout the team to efficiently implement projects. * Lead contract negotiations for the purchase of equipment or contractor services. * Execute projects on time and within budget as outlined in capital requests, while establishing clear schedules and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for each project. * Implement best practices of safety management for the Corbion project team and the construction contractors. * Manage project closure and capitalization to the support the business' capital Finance structure. * Coordinate with QA, Technology, and Operations and Maintenance to assure training of operators and staff, maintainability, safety, quality and operability as a part of every project. * Execute QESH standards per defined roles and responsibilities to ensure personal and product safety and quality. * Perform within the guidelines of all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Security measures, Housekeeping, Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP), all quality, regulatory, environmental, safety and health guidelines and regulations. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar * 4-6 years of relevant experience in managing capital projects, preferably in a food manufacturing environment * Proficient use of project management strategies and a proven history of managing multiple projects simultaneously * Understanding of federal and local codes & regulations and good engineering practices * Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team environment and work well as both an independent contributor and in a team atmosphere * Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Project. AutoCAD, SAP, and other engineering software tools preferred but not required * Working knowledge of process safety strategies including process hazard analyses (PHAs) and management of change (MOC) preferred Physical Demands: The work is performed mainly in the General Office Environment and Plant Operations Areas where PPE is required. Selectek has an exciting new opportunity for a Civil Project Engineer in the Council Bluffs, IA area. The Civil Project Engineer will be working on public sector building projects. Responsibilities: Work with key Clients to define project requirements, develop design criteria, and communicate priorities to the Project Team. Produce construction documents with an established team of experienced and skilled technical professionals. Provide detailed reviews on multiple projects at varying stages of design. Coordinate design efforts with public and private stakeholders.
