You are close to Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, and Minnesota. You are within a days drive to many attractions and locations. Being located in East Central Iowa, you would have access to many outdoor activities and amenities, while being able to play a big role in the community. If someone is interested in a variety of seasons, this is the place for them. It's a great place to raise children if so inclined, while being close to nightlife if wanted. It's truly the best of both worlds.
