Job Roles
* Completes all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards; in addition, documentation complies with patients' insurance requirements.
* Consults when appropriate and refers patients as necessary to dental specialists and/or medical providers.
* Instructs and clinically supervises dental hygienists, dental assistants, and other Para-professional personnel.
* Participates in developing and reviewing dental treatment protocols, audit procedures, and quality assurance procedures.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Provides dental care to patients, including root canal therapy, restorative (operative and fixed and removal prosthodontics), and oral surgery (simple and surgical).
* Uses resources efficiently; practices dentistry in a cost-effective manner.
Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations
* Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training.
* DEA license
* General practice residency or equivalent of 2 years clinical experience preferred.
* Graduate of accredited Dental School.
* License from the State of California as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) or a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D.) required.
* Membership in American Academy of General Dentistry preferred.
Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)
* Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural and economic groups.
* Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and independently.

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
