GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: As a Data Scientist, this role will need to have expertise in Azure Machine Learning, SQL, and knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Vertex AI. Job Summary Dr. Garassino's group is seeking a Data Scientist that will lead data science research efforts within the thoracic cancer program in the Section of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine. Working closely with senior team members, this hire will contribute to data analysis assignments essential for supporting research projects. The data scientist is expected to focus their efforts on projects that include - but are not limited to - digital pathology data. This position will collaborate with study team members across the Center to accurately address data needs as they arise and will actively familiarize themselves with the history and complexity of longitudinal datasets across multiple new and established research projects. An ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of research methodologies, data analysis, experience with coding languages such as R and Python, Deep Learning libraries such as torch and tensoflow, and a demonstrated commitment to communication and collaboration. Responsibilities Develop frameworks for housing multi-modal clinical data - including genomic, pathology, and radiographic imaging data. Develop and code data dictionaries for discrete data. Write, Implement, and develop efficient code and machine learning tools and pipelines for data processing and analysis. Work with collaborators to implement emerging external computational tools for program data. Keep lab's knowledge-based trainings up to date. Supervise trainees.
