Performs manual work in the cleaning of county buildings and facilities. Work requires the safe operation of hand maneuvered electrical scrubbers, waxers, and buffers, mops, brooms, ladders and cleaning chemicals. The safe operation of a vehicle is required to travel from one building to the next. Work is usually scheduled during late afternoon or evening when buildings are vacant; performs related work as required.
Classification Summary
Performs janitorial work for the cleaning and maintenance of County buildings and facilities. Work is performed according to quality control standards and work schedules developed by the Building Maintenance Supervisor. After the initial training and orientation period, work is performed independently according to written or verbal instructions of the supervisor who may not be present for the entire shift. Work performance is reviewed by personal inspection of the assigned work areas by the supervisor or based on feedback to the supervisor from building occupants. Most duties are performed according to established routines and procedures and are repetitive in nature.

Position Summary
This position acts as a customer-oriented liaison at both Chatfield Farms and York Street locations. This position operates under general supervision cleaning and maintaining the internal and external appearance of the facilities and grounds at Denver Botanic Gardens. This is a forward facing position requiring interactions with visitors, employees and volunteers. Other duties include closing duties, wildlife management, and other site security duties as assigned. This position requires strong teamwork and may be asked to supplement other members of the Operations team.
The Facility and Custodial Technician works to ensure a positive presentation of Chatfield Farms facilities for visitors and staff. This position does require occasional ability to flex shifts for days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Requirements
General Duties and Responsibilities
Monitors events and traffic flow of visitors throughout gardens and buildings, performing timely clean-up including, emptying trash cans, cleaning restroom facilities, picking up trash, etc.
Maintains cleanliness of exterior hardscapes, including but not limited to sweeping sidewalks.
Collects recycled materials, and ensures collections are placed in the proper containers.
Maintains adequate cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper. Ensure adequate equipment for cleaning is available.
Cleans public and office areas, including emptying trash, dusting, vacuuming, windows, washing walls etc. to ensure consistently clean and safe presentations.
Empties interior and exterior trash cans within gardens and public areas.
Ensures tripping, or other safety hazards are immediately reported to supervisor.
Assists other personnel as assigned by Supervisor.
Assist as needed with other projects or special events occurring in the Gardens.
Upon request, assist in the closing of gates, doors and clearing of the Gardens at closing time. Set Alarms.
Ensures all trash is picked up on the external grounds daily.
Participates with snow removal duties.
Coordinates with other staff to ensure seamless transitions of cleaning and set up of venues.
Assists Private Events staff in the set up of event space. This may include assisting in cleaning and repair of tables, chairs, and other equipment or furniture.

**Qualifications**
+ A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
+ At least one (1) year experience that evidences a working knowledge of commercial cleaning equipment and industrial cleaning processes.
+ At least one (1) year experience in commercial housekeeping.
+ Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: background check and drug test.
+ As per contract requirements, must be a NANA Shareholder living in the NANA Region.
+ Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients.
+ Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
+ Must be able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.

Description of environment: This is a remote camp setting. Employees must constantly be able to stand, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch. Employees are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
Travel: Must be able to travel by plane and/or bus to remote camps.
Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Under direction of the Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations, Coordinator for Facilities and Operations, and Student Building Supervisor, the Facility Attendant acts as the attendant on duty during operational hours and is considered an extension of the facility management.
A Facility Attendant's job duties include:
* Create the "First Impression" for the Campus Recreation facilities.
* Open and close program areas within Campus Recreation buildings, contact appropriate personnel for troubleshooting issues, and provide participants of the facility with information on all program areas or direct them to the appropriate areas.
* Greet and check for proper identification of all guests via Fusion facility management software.
* Answer telephones, issue equipment, complete routine building checks, and enforce facility usage guidelines and procedures.
* Assist in safety, security, and risk management protocol for facilities. Assist in event set up and tear down.
* Spot clean facility/fitness equipment as needed and put away any equipment left out by guests.
* Perform scheduled room checks and counts.
* Attend staff meetings, and maintain professionalism at all times, either while assisting members or attending to other work tasks.
* Will provide backup to facility access staff when necessary. Individuals will also provide coverage when needed for special events that go beyond normal operation hours.
Facility Attendants must be a student at Penn State University and possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal skills. Must be a team player, willing to cover or trade shifts when necessary. Ability to recognize and identify unruly patrons or unsafe behaviors. Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary. CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred. Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds with or without accommodation.

Job Position Description:
This position is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and repairing carpeted and hard floor surfaces. Other duties may be Assigned:

Perform all floor cleaning and maintenance duties for facilities using ServiceMaster provided tools and procedures
Duties include: sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming, shampoo carpets, stripping, waxing, buffing. moving furniture, disinfect floors with sanitizer, spot cleaning, cleaning of elevators and stairs
Must achieve thorough understanding of floor maintenance procedures such as but not limited to, stripping and waxing, identifying different flooring types.
Ability to operate various floor equipment and machinery
Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
Use proper PPE and safety equipment as required
Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security system as required.
Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a floor tech is highly desiredbut not required·
Will provide on the job training to those with strong work ethicand willingness to learn
Experience working for a professional janitorial or floor care company, office complex, hotel, hospital or school is a plus.
The ability to be flexible, work at a fast-paced and in a multi-tasked job is a must.
Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude and contribute to the overall team effort including being in uniform, dependable and on time
Has respect and understanding for co-workers and customers
Must be able to communicate in English
Physical Demands and Qualifications:
