Essential Duties

Schedules and monitors building cleaning and maintenance tasks, exercises on-site supervision and evaluation, and provides direction to custodial staff members;
Provides thorough training of each cleaning duty to custodial staff;
Resolves personnel and performance issues;
Performs and participates in documentation and reporting in a timely manner;
Prepares work orders for repairs;
Prepares employee work schedules;
Sweeps and mops floors, including restrooms, classrooms, hallways, offices, multi-purpose rooms, cafeterias and food preparation areas, science and computer labs, art rooms, music classrooms, meeting rooms, and related rooms;
Vacuums carpeted floors; strips and waxes floors and shampoos carpets on maintenance schedule;
Dusts and wipes off surfaces, including chalkboards and whiteboards;
Cleans and sanitizes restroom areas, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, privacy dividers, walls and floors;
Maintains supply levels in restrooms, including toilet paper, paper towels, and soap;
Washes walls, windows and surface areas;
Empties and cleans trash containers, including transporting bagged waste to outside trash receptacles;
Cleans light fixtures and replaces bulbs;
Dusts and cleans air vents;
Cleans and polishes mirrors, wood, and other special reflective and decorative surfaces;
Cleans spills, spot cleans carpets, and removes graffiti as needed;
Cleans and maintains custodial equipment;
Maintains sufficient inventory of cleaning supplies;
Assists in moving and setting up furniture and equipment;
Unloads supplies, paper stocks, books, and inventory items;
Maintains and regulates HVAC systems through regular changing of air filters inside the buildings, reports issues;
Maintains grounds, including sidewalks, parking lots, common areas, playgrounds, and planting areas, by picking up litter and trash, mowing grass, weeding planting areas, and irrigating;
Performs snow removal duties, including sanding and salting walkways;
Locks and unlocks buildings and checks panic bolts to maintain security and prevent vandalism;
Performs minor maintenance including, but not limited to, changing light bulbs, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, and classroom repairs;
Sets up and breaks down after special events;
Performs other related duties as required;
Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with District policies, procedures, and safety practice

Basic Qualifications:
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* No experience required and on the job training provided.
* No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior customer service experience
* One (1) year of prior similar work experience.
Responsibilities:
* Clean and maintain assigned area, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, office, and stairways
* Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas
* Regularly check trash receptacles, emptying as needed, in all designated areas
* Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
* Notify lead cleaner or manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems
* Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
* Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles
* Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceiling, and walls
* Polish hard surfaces, e.g. woodwork, stainless steel surfaces
* Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas
* Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks
* Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
* Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks
* Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms (clean and polish as needed)
* Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities

Responsibilities
Essential
Vacuums carpeted floors and floor mats by using an industrial vacuum
Cleans cement floors by using an industrial floor scrubbing machine
Sweeps, mops and dusts all areas of the building including shipping, manufacturing and warehouse areas.
Ensures that all trash is removed from the building and deposits it into the receptacle.
Cleans all restrooms by sweeping & mopping floors, disinfecting the restrooms, (i.e., wiping & washing urinals, toilets, sinks, stalls, walls, floors, mirrors, etc.) with disinfectant.
Cleans lunchroom by sweeping floors, disinfecting the lunchroom: by wiping & washing tables, chairs, counters, floors, walls, windows, etc.
Ensures all refuse is removed from the grounds around the building by sweeping sidewalks, picking up trash, and emptying garbage cans and ash buckets.
Stocks lunch room with supplies and prepares coffee and hot chocolate machines for use.
Cleans windows inside and outside of the facility by using scissor lift or man lift.
Cleans hard to reach areas overhead and under the equipment including racks and windows.
Cleans offices including desks, chairs, carpet and chair mats.
Cleans lobby area including the mezzanine and observatory windows.
Ensures that the building is “Tour Ready” condition at all times.
