Requisitions supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Moves heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually with assistance or by using hand trucks. Sets up, arranges, or removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings. Performs sanitizing tasks in various facility areas, i.e., restrooms, kitchen and food areas, cafeterias. Performs physically demanding tasks requiring use of heavy custodial equipment, i.e., mopping, stripping, waxing, floor buffing. Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Removes trash by emptying trash containers; transports materials to disposal area; recycles materials. Uses appropriate chemicals and cleaners safely and productively according to instructions and established State Department of Education regulatory to ensure personal, student, public, and staff safety. Responds to emergency situations in order to confine, resolve or prevent injurious or otherwise hazardous conditions, i.e., spills, broken windows, broken locks. Requisitions supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Moves heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually with assistance or by using hand trucks. Sets up, arranges, or removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings. WORKING CONDITIONS The working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day. This person will need to be available in the evening and weekends, as needed. Must be willing to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure. PHYSICAL and SENSORY REQUIREMENTS Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing 15 feet and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials 30 pounds.
