Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.

Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.

Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

TITLE General Cleaner REPORTS TO Area Manager Under direct supervision, the General Cleaner is responsible for daily housekeeping including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, total disinfection of bathroom, garbage removal, general clean-up of kitchens, classrooms, medical offices, common areas, stairwells, wall washing, steam, carpet cleaning, and extraction. May require project work including detailed cleaning and floor work as needed. Additional duties may be assigned which include stripping and waxing of floor, mold removal under the guidance of Supervisor, high dusting, and cleaning on a scaffold, cleaning of elevator tracks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Previous experience in cleaning or facility maintenance is a plus but not required.
* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods preferred.

DUTIES & RESPONISBILITIES:
