What the job looks like
- :
Cleaning, packing up and moving customer contents with care.
Detailed cleaning and laundering in our updated and equipped facility.
Performs fire/smoke damage remediation repair as directed by supervisor to primarily include: pack-out of contents, removing/disposing of non-salvageable materials, cleaning and demolition on occasion.
May perform other cleaning duties (i.e., post-construction cleaning, fire/smoke/odor cleaning, upholstery cleaning, etc.) when part of mitigation or restoration jobs.
May perform cleaning duties dealing with trauma, bio-hazard, and COVID.
Reports any equipment malfunction to supervisor.
Reports any customer problems or damage to supervisor.
Completes assigned job tasks according to company processes while maintaining quality control on each job.
Full-Time, Monday-Friday ( potential for overtime + weekends, if needed)
Participation in an on-call rotation

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

This position is a permanent part-time position that works 75 hours per month or 18ish hours per week and serves a probationary period of 6 months. The typical scheduled work hours are between 4:00 pm - 11:30 pm and custodians receive a shift premium of $2.50 per hour. In person work is required.

* Cleans various buildings, offices, classrooms, showers, restrooms, windows (exterior/interior) etc.
* Keeps facilities properly supplied with toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other items
* Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, dusts and polishes floors, walls, woodwork, furniture, and equipment
* Empties and cleans wastebaskets, and recycle containers
* Assists with set-ups and take-downs of equipment and furnishings for college events
* Operates custodial equipment (i.e. scrubbers, extractors, carts, etc.) and a utility cart
* Wears a respirator (dust mask) as necessary. Note: this job requirement would be preceded by a "fit test"
* Performs other duties as assigned

Previous experience with methods, materials and equipment related to cleaning common to schools preferred. Successful candidate must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to operate appropriate machinery used in the cleaning and daily maintenance of schools. Successful candidate will be required to submit to and pass a background check and fingerprint screening at their expense.
Position responsibilities include:
Essential Functions:
· Works from a prepared work schedule on assigned tasks from site principal or head custodian
· Performs the full range of custodial functions as required to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all facilities.
· Operates vacuums, floor machines, buffers and carpet cleaning equipment.
· Moves and arranges chairs, desks, tables, and sets up facilities, i.e. chairs/bleachers for assemblies, concerts, etc…
· Performs routine duties in maintaining facilities.
· Cleans and maintains areas of his/her responsibility on an organized schedule.
· Uses tools, equipment, and cleaning agents properly.
· Comprehends and follows oral and written instructions.
· Picks up paper and other debris, empties and cleans trash receptacles.
· Communicates and works cooperatively with other members of the staff.
· Presents a positive attitude by appearance, personal neatness, personal habits, and punctuality.
· Adheres to all district health and safety guidelines.
· Is punctual and maintains regular attendance
