The Role As a member of the Farm Crew you'll contribute to various aspects of organic vegetable production for summer and winter CSAs and wholesale accounts. You'll assist with greenhouse and high tunnel production, field operations, vegetable harvest, and wash and pack, and be trained in farm systems, with the opportunity to learn organic and regenerative practices for vegetable production. Specifically, you'll: Work directly with the farm manager, assistant manager, and other farm crew Implement the crop plan and aspects of production: greenhouse and high tunnel work, field transplanting, weed control, harvest, CSA distribution, and general farm maintenance projects. Some of these tasks are as follows: - Assisting in hauling boats and putting them on stands, as well as launching them when needed - Clean the bottoms of boats when hauled - Maintenance of the machines used in the facility - Grounds maintenance - Repair docks and facilities - Contribute towards a healthy, safe, clean, and fun work environment - Any and all other duties asked of you - Yard crew are to perform their duties in a manner that assures safety for themselves, the customer, and marina property. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. - Faculty to operate handheld and power tools. - Able to swim - Detail oriented PREFERRED SKILLS : - Ability to operate forklifts and heavy machinery - Ability to operate boats - Welding knowledge - Woodworking knowledge Knowledge of boating is a plus, but all are encouraged to apply.
