Position Description:Members serve in professionally supervised teams as they explore future outdoor careers, learn practical field skills, and develop confidence as emerging leaders in conservation. Members are afforded opportunities to learn and train under professional mentors within ACE while gaining invaluable career perspectives working alongside staff from the National Park Service and many other stewards of our nation's public lands.
Field work and additional responsibilities might include but are not limited to:
* Invasive species removal, the work we will be doing will predominantly be spraying herbicide using backpack sprayers.
* Native species seeding and planting
* Plant identification and seed collection

Members get experience with, or in conjunction with, the following tools and equipment, depending on their level of training:
* Restoration Equipment: Herbicide backpack sprayers, spray bottles, GPS units, and measuring tools.
Qualifications: Applicants should be prepared to perform physically challenging labor on environmental and conservation projects for 10 hours a day. Applicants should expect to hike extended distances on rough terrain carrying backpacks, tools, and equipment and be prepared to spend 8 consecutive days in the field on each project. Members will work in a variety of weather conditions, such as temperatures ranging from below-freezing to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, high winds, intense sunshine, rain, and snow.

Formerly the Casper Events Center, the venue was renamed to the Ford Wyoming Center in January 2021. The Center is a 28,000 square foot multi-purpose facility, built high on a hill overlooking the city of Casper, Casper Mountain, and the scenic Platte River Valley. Funded entirely by the City's portion of an optional 1% sales tax, the venue opened on April 17, 1982. The arena features a horseshoe-shaped seating bowl with 8,000 seats.
The Ford Wyoming Center hosts a variety of different events each year, including concerts, sporting events, family shows, trade shows, competitions, religious services, bull riding competitions, commencement ceremonies, lectures, and political rallies among other corporate and community events. The arena is host to the Wyoming High School Basketball, Volleyball, and Wrestling Tournaments, the Wyoming High School Art Symposium, Wyoming High School Marching Band Competition and Wyoming High School Spirit and Cheer Competition. The venue has been home of the College National Finals Rodeo each June since 2001.

Responsibilities
Participate in all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for events (setting up and tearing down flooring, portable chairs, barricades, staging, tables, other furnishings and equipment).
Setup and tear down of event equipment as designated by event documents.
Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met including, but not limited to, loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies.
Assist, when necessary, with pre/post event cleaning, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, carpet cleaning.
Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed such as painting, patching, and other conversion related operational equipment.
Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety or damage concerns or loss of property promptly to Operations Supervisor.
Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
Frequent bending, lifting 15-50 pounds, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building, exposure to loud noises, and standing for long periods of time.
Other tasks as assigned to ensure the cleanliness and success of the events center and its events.
Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D. and one (1) to three (3) months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrate knowledge of typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility, and proper use and care of hand and power tools.
Demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Ability to follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations and emergency procedures.
Experience operating pallet jacks, scrubbing machines or other light power-driven equipment is preferred.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
