Overview of Responsibilities As a Utility Crew Member I/II/III, your day-to-day responsibilities will include hands-on work that keeps our water system running smoothly. You will repair water mains, service line, meters, hydrants and related facilities using map plats and GIS. Although the work is rewarding, it can be demanding. Expect long hours using shovels, bars and pneumatic tools to pothole existing utilities while also being responsible for setting up and removing traffic control devices to protect crews from street traffic. TYPICAL SCHEDULE: Our crews work a 9/80 Flex Schedule which means they are typically here Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and have every other Friday off. Working Fridays are 6:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Utility Crew Members work flexible hours and/or extended work shifts, including weekends and holidays. This includes being required to work a rotating one-week standby shift which includes being available 24/7, weekends and holidays.
