Tri-State Tree Service is seeking for an experienced Crew Leader / Climber / Bucket Operator with a passion for arboriculture.
Here's what you'd do:
We'll look to you to ensure efficiency and that client standards are attained. You'll conduct site inspections, provide hands-on leadership, and provide guidance for Pruning, Tree removal, Tree care, landscaping and more. You'll also drive and maintain our vehicles, train personnel with a strong emphasis on safety, and handle schedules, and review charts and reports.
You'd be responsible for:
Supervising the tree care service activities of the crew - ensuring that all crew members have the required safety material, that the crews have the training and tools needed to complete the job and that the crews are operating safely at all times
Reviewing and managing crew schedules
Perform all aspects of tree care in accordance with written job specifications and ANSI standards, with and without direct supervision.
Lead and communicate with the crew as needed to ensure high levels of safety, quality, attention to detail, customer satisfaction; assist in training less experienced employees.
Drive trucks with trailers, including daily safety inspection before and after operating.
Operate equipment including chainsaw, chipper, tractor, skid steer, spray rig, backpack sprayer, leaf blower, etc. including periodic maintenance/repairs.
Work safely and comply with company policies and ANSI/OSHA regulations for tree care operations, including wearing all appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as provided by company.
Complete and retain basic skills training. Willingness to pursue additional training and certification as needed.
Perform all Ground Worker duties, traffic and pedestrian control, and other relevant duties as operationally necessary.
You might be a good fit if you have:
3+ years of verifiable experience in tree care with an emphasis on climbing and/or bucket truck operation.
Good Driver's License (no major violation record)
CDL license class B (preferred but nor reuired)
Experience managing a crew consisting of climbers and grounds men or related services
Supervisory experience
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
Good work ethic
Proficiency in safely performing all aspects of modern tree care including strong tree ID skills, climbing (with and without spikes), rigging, pruning, and felling techniques. Crane experience is a plus. Experience with cabling, planting, and PHC is a plus.
Ability to handle the physicality of our work: weather conditions, heavy lifting (30-80+ pounds), and extensive walking.

Job Summary/Objective: Possessing expert technical skills and knowledge associated with the construction, repair and maintenance of towers and accompanying structures. This includes advanced knowledge and experience with carrier equipment, high level of tool proficiency to complete site to customer standards, ability to complete rigging plans. Possesses certifications in climbing/rescue and rigging.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Oversees the day to day activities of a team that perform tower construction and testing including the installation of antennas, mounting hardware, coax and connectors, grounding, testing, positioning, and optimizing antennas and lines. Performs the duties of the team as well as providing general direction. Work with basic hand tools and safety equipment.
* Performs Installation of RF and antenna system components such as antennas, TMA's, RRU's, diplexers, coax, hybrids, grounding, supports, weatherproofing, connectors, hardware, etc.) knowledge and experience of major carrier sites including upgrades, MODS, NSB, Electrical, Civil, DAS, Small Cells, etc.
* Responsible for Capstan operations, Crane/signaling, Rigging, Steel work (hanging boom, antenna etc.) and shoot azimuths.(Front, Back and Side)
* Coordinate with customer representative for site-related activities and maintain a good working relationship with a customer representative.
* Utilize PPE in compliance with EHS requirements and industry standards. Maintain OSHA and EHS requirements at all times.
* Maintain equipment and vehicles in an operational condition
* Compile information for and complete daily paperwork required for the site and the crew. Compile all site-specific closeout documentation for your work effort per carrier requirements and upload closeout documentation to customer interfaces.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and actively train/promote learning to all crew members.
Minimum Education and Experience:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* 5 years of telecommunications construction experience
* OSHA 30
* Possess a valid Driver's License
* Have knowledge of and ability to meet and pass all DOT requirements
* Expert level of knowledge with testing equipment -Anritsu, Fiber tester, PIM, RET etc.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
* TT1/TTII/ NWSA Certification
* Sweep, PIM, and Fiber Certifications
* Expert level of knowledge with testing equipment -Anritsu, Fiber tester, PIM, RET etc.
* Understanding and ability to process RFDS and read construction drawings.
* Demonstrated expertise in construction skills, rigging, safety, and general industry knowledge.
Skills Required:
* Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawing and support documentation, RF data sheets, and basic electrical concepts.
* Ability to communicate both verbally and electronically.
* Ability to take and understand written and verbal direction.
* Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
* Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Direct/Indirect Supervisory Responsibility:
* Provides daily direction to the tower team
* Partners with operations manager to set goals for performance and deadlines in ways the comply with company and clients plans and vision.
* Organizes/oversees workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
* Partner with EHS team to maintain a safe work environment at all times
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Required:
* Ability to work in all weather conditions except for unsafe or extreme weather conditions.
* Physically able to climb 1000 vertical feet per day
* Desire and ability to climb structures to heights in excess of 300' while carrying loads in excess of 50 pounds.
* Travel is required 50% of the time
