Job Description
● Train new drivers and help them find their place on your tight-knit team.
● Coach and monitor all drivers on safety procedures.

● Keep an auction day playbook with each Manheim vehicle stock number and lot location, ensuring each vehicle is where it should be when it needs to be.

● Transport drivers, customers, and employees to locations as needed and on schedule.

Qualifications:
Minimum:
● High school diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.

LANDFILL FOREMAN CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Landfill Foreman PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION Provides on-site supervision to assigned crews performing manual labor, maintenance, and construction work. Supervises the daily operations and Operator staff of the County landfill. Functions as a working Foreman alongside subordinate Operators.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Plans, coordinates, and supervises daily operations and work of assigned landfill equipment operators engaged in landfill operations; provides assistance, instruction, and guidance.
Serves as supervisory position on assigned shifts; assigns and reviews the work of operators.
Resolves work place issues; evaluates performance and recommends disciplinary and other personnel actions.
Coordinates work with outside contractors; supervises and engages in the compaction of waste placement and compaction of soil lifts and cover, construction of roads, sediment ponds, and berms so that proper drainage is achieved. Responsible for ensuring metals, mattresses, and tires are separated from the waste stream at a clean and organized transfer station area before waste is placed in bins.
Ensures use of appropriate equipment and materials.
Operates landfill equipment and bale recyclables as needed.
Serves as quality control on assigned projects; inspects work, checks dimensions, and ensures adherence to project specifications and standards.
Ensures staff maintains equipment; notifies manager or fleet management for equipment repair needs. Recovers refrigerant from appliances; ensures compliance with federal and local guidelines.
Coordinates cash box security with the adjacent County Prison, makes bank deposits, and performs other scale house duties as necessary.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Supervise inmate labor.
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required; four (4) years of experience performing maintenance and construction work, landfill equipment operating preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Georgia Landfill Operator certification, inmate supervision certification, and refrigerant recovery certifications must be acquired within six (6) months.
