Our company is looking for an experienced Foreman to join our team. role will include ensuring workplace safety, managing job site activities to ensure the most efficient use of field labor, managing field labor scheduling, managing personnel performance, and communicating effectively to customers. The Foreman is also responsible for supporting new installation and remodel sales by reviewing existing conditions, providing realistic production rates, and identifying potential cost impacts prior to the start of the project. The selected candidate must be an expert at fulfilling customer requirements and maximizing profitability; excellent communication, financial acumen, business development, and management skills will all be critical to success in this role. The Foreman must also have the necessary skills and experience to handle customer concerns, adjust manpower levels to drive maximum efficiency and profitability, accurately.
Job Responsibilities:
* Develop a spirit of teamwork and dedication to quality among all employees and subcontractors by leading with integrity and fairness.
* Manage training and development of field installers on established processes, tools, and company standards.
* Enforce company policies and procedures in regard to subcontractors.
* Foster transparent communication among team members while maintaining good working relationships with unions and subcontractors.
* Manage Customer relationships by frequently and effectively communicating with the customer's project managers, superintendents, and installation teams.
* Assure that each installation project meets company quality and safety standards while managing contract compliance requirements (scope) and minimizing costs.
* Drive effective handoff meetings to provide critical analysis and documentation of contract scope, approve production rates, and confirm the gross profit of the job prior to booking.
* Perform pre-mobilization checklists within 2 weeks of scheduled on-site labor and manage on-site activities with customers to ensure manufacturer site conditions are met and field labor is used most effectively and efficiently.
* Deliver scope non-compliance report to the customer in writing within 24 hours of pre-mobilization check and confirm remediation prior to scheduling on-site field labor.
* Proactively problem-solve for installation efficiency and job completion in line with the project schedule to ensure minimal punch list items exist on the last day of installation.
* Effectively staff projects to meet project budgets and timelines through in-depth knowledge of installer skill sets and qualifications.
* Review the project plan to develop appropriate on-site material staging areas that will minimize the total number of deliveries and re-mobilization of the labor force.
* Review work orders for accuracy and work with the PM to proactively schedule material deliveries to ensure necessary materials and tooling are on site so as not to impede production or project schedule.
* Identify out-of-scope work and proactively communicate with customers to agree on change order procedures that will ensure payment at agreed-upon labor rates and mark-up.
* Assist PM in tracking costs to negotiate outstanding change order requests with customers with a high degree of success.
* Act as liaison between the field and office by sending daily reports from each site visit including in-progress and POC (Percentage of Completion) reporting.
* Complete periodic safety audits per the company's compliance schedule.
* Track project timelines and provide solutions to meet customer turnover schedules if slippage occurs.
* If slippage occurs that is out of the control of Diverzify', immediately communicate in writing to the customer the impact to cost and schedule to determine if change orders are necessary.
* Track daily production in the field to ensure we hit or exceed targets as agreed to during handoff. Alert management of any discrepancies or shrinkage that would result in a cost variance.
* Assist PM in resolving discrepancies in reported installer hours.
* Support the local sales team in estimating new installation bids and investigating and resolving customer complaints.
* Participate in company and supplier professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of flooring products and installation methodologies.
Job Requirements:
* 5+ years of demonstrated experience; knowledge of the products in the floor covering industry
* Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Journeyman Installer exp. Highly preferred
