Basic Functions: This is a Non-Exempt position. Incumbent is responsible for transporting residents to and from provider appointments, and activity outings. Will also answer phones, schedule resident appointments, maintain the transport calendar, and other clerical ward clerk duties when not transporting residents.

On-call varying shifts at the Mt. Vernon, WA location
This position performs non-technical laboratory tasks such as stocking lab materials, providing courier services locally and in surrounding counties, and assisting in maintaining the overall efficiency of the lab.
Our vehicle insurance carrier requires that all Couriers meet the following criteria to be covered by our insurance policy:
Minimum 21 Years of Age
Three (3) or fewer minor violations/accidents in the past three years, and/or no major violations in the past five (5) years.
Employment is contingent upon completion and satisfactory results of a background check as well as our vehicle insurance carrier's approval and acceptance of your current State of Washington Motor Vehicle Record.
Northwest Pathology, P.S. dba Avero Diagnostics operates on a 24/7/365 basis; individuals may be required to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Schedule flexibility with and without advanced notice is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Performs courier services including specimen pick-up, report and client supplies delivery.
Reviews requisitions and specimens for completeness at the time of pick-up and interacts professionally with client office and clinical staff as appropriate to obtain any discrepant information.
Provides administrative support to the NWP leadership team, laboratory staff, and physicians as needed.
Assists the department with service, and maintenance of NWP vehicles.
Maintains the department(s) professionally, including cleaning and restocking supplies.
Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and assigned work area.
Maintains professional attitude and appearance at all times.
Attends various trainings and meetings as needed.
Performs other related tasks as directed.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE
High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree is a plus
Active and valid US State-Issued Driver's License with acceptable motor vehicle record as defined and approved by the company's vehicle insurance carrier.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 1 year of driving experience required; prior courier or professional driving preferred.
Laboratory and/or healthcare environment experience is a plus.

Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Smartphone device proficiency.
The ability to drive in inclement weather situations. This includes snow, rain, and ice.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers/keyboards/mice, printers, phones, mobile devices, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, etc. The noise level in the office work environment varies from moderate to loud.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; grasp and/or reach with hands and arms; repetitive movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
