The Children's Urgent Response Specialist is part of the EMPACT-SPC Children's Team working with children and families in crisis that are enrolled with and receiving ongoing services. This position provides direct crisis intervention services in home, school, and in the community. Crisis intervention services include but are not limited to crisis prevention; de-escalation; transportation; client support/supervision; parent training; behavior management training and assistance; and provision and assistance in accessing appropriate community referrals. The requirements of the position include ensuring coordination of care with multiple systems including Behavioral Health providers and networks; Juvenile Probation; School; Division of Developmental Disabilities; Placements and license agencies; and Department of Child Safety. *This position requires availability to work nights and weekends.*
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide direct in-home, in-office, in school and community based crisis services. These services will include but not be limited to crisis intervention and de-escalation, transportation, maintaining or establishing community stabilization, client support and/or supervision, parenting training, behavior management training and assistance, and provision and assistance in accessing appropriate community referrals.
Ensure quality service delivery including clinical care and all associated documentation. Maintain all client records in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Provide comprehensive services to clients and assist in coordinating communication with other departments of the agency to accomplish continuity of care. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all related state, community behavioral health, and contracting organizations.
Comply with the agency's standard of care for service delivery. Assist with Quality Management and Utilization Review as needed.
Perform job duties in a safe manner at all times; provide support for team members and perform cooperatively and professionally as part of a cohesive team.
Will be required to oversee everyday functioning of department vehicles and to immediately report incidents involving damage or theft. May be required to do basic safety checks on vehicles (oil, tire air pressure, etc.).
Will be required at times to work in potentially volatile situations and to react in a professional manner to crisis situations regardless of the nature of the environment or circumstances.
What you'll provide:
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED and must meet BHT requirements.
Bachelor's degree in behavioral field preferred.
Experience in community behavioral health required, with specific knowledge of AZ Children's Behavioral Health System.
Five (5) years of prior behavioral health related work experience is preferred.
Prior experience with Child Family Team Process and knowledge of AZ 12 Principles and AZ Vision is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a team, and strong interpersonal skills, including positive, non-judgmental attitude.

JOB SUMMARY
Performs breastfeeding peer counseling duties. Provides basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to promote and support breastfeeding among pregnant and breastfeeding WIC clients. Provides services according to Pinal County Public Health Services District (PCPHSD) policies and procedures under basic supervision.

TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
* Support WIC clients in their breastfeeding efforts using principles from the Loving Support curriculum.
* Provide individual counseling, education, and anticipatory guidance. Identify signs of concerns with breastfeeding, help problem solve and provide timely support.
* Adhere to the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor (BFPC) scope of practice role and yield to the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), the WIC designated breastfeeding expert, or client physician for any breastfeeding cases outside of that scope.
* Document each contact in the TGIF Note format and complete daily and monthly call back log reports.
* Promote the principles of the WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program to pregnant and postpartum WIC clients for referrals generated from the Pinal County WIC staff and refer clients to the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Hotline.
* Collaborate with community resources for purposes of program outreach, provide program information, and attend health fairs and other community events to promote the program.
* Attend mandatory meetings and other continuing education opportunities.
* Actively participate in ADHS, PCPHSD and other community committees and groups related to the delivery and improvement of public health.
* Attend training sessions at ADHS and additional continuing education meetings and present at when requested.
* Assist clients with access to other health care professionals, regional agencies, and community services programs.
* Maintain case file records and collect, compile, and report data on program participation.
* Assist with community outreach programs and special projects as assigned.
* To promote and adhere to the workplace values of accountability, commitment, and teamwork to help enrich lives beyond expectation.

Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

Essential Responsibilities:
Provide mentoring, life and social skill building, psychosocial rehabilitation living skills training, respite, individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, and stabilization, behavior management, and intensive wraparound to children and their families in their home and in community-based settings. Family Support Counselors who are Master's Level Therapists may provide clinical services and psychotherapy for the purpose of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

Deliver at least 40 hours of work per week, with a goal of 30 hours directing client contact, which includes case management as needed. Productivity standards are established annually. Complete all tasks agreed upon by the timelines given.
Facilitate, schedule, and provide follow-up on Family, youth, and adult team meetings (ACT or CFT). Complete written documentation of this meeting and provide a copy to all team members. Engage and invite natural supports as identified by family, youth, and adults. Make referrals to collaborating partners and other community services, as client needs indicate.
Promote and protect the health, safety, and emotional well-being of children and families by assisting, supporting and educating them to prevent illness and avoid unsafe activities.
Work with the child, family, and any support network to identify areas of risk and to create safeguards specific to these concerns.
Assists the CFT in crisis stabilization and transitional moves to and from higher levels of care.
Consistently address challenging behaviors proactively, respectfully, and by avoiding the use of aversive or deprivation intervention techniques in family-centered, strengths-based manners.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the children and families, which may include evening or weekend hours when needed.

JOB SUMMARY
Performs breastfeeding peer counseling duties. Provides basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to promote and support breastfeeding among pregnant and breastfeeding WIC clients. Provides services according to Pinal County Public Health Services District (PCPHSD) policies and procedures under basic supervision.

TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Support WIC clients in their breastfeeding efforts using principles from the Loving Support curriculum.
Provide individual counseling, education, and anticipatory guidance. Identify signs of concerns with breastfeeding, help problem solve and provide timely support.
Adhere to the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor (BFPC) scope of practice role and yield to the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), the WIC designated breastfeeding expert, or client physician for any breastfeeding cases outside of that scope.
Document each contact in the TGIF Note format and complete daily and monthly call back log reports.
Promote the principles of the WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program to pregnant and postpartum WIC clients for referrals generated from the Pinal County WIC staff and refer clients to the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Hotline.
Collaborate with community resources for purposes of program outreach, provide program information, and attend health fairs and other community events to promote the program.
Attend mandatory meetings and other continuing education opportunities.
Actively participate in ADHS, PCPHSD and other community committees and groups related to the delivery and improvement of public health.
Attend training sessions at ADHS and additional continuing education meetings and present at when requested.
Assist clients with access to other health care professionals, regional agencies, and community services programs.
Maintain case file records and collect, compile, and report data on program participation.
Assist with community outreach programs and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid Arizona State Driver's License at time of hire.
At least three months personal breastfeeding experience
Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bi-lingual English-Spanish language skills
