Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Counselor Aide to work an On Call, Overnight schedule, at our Syracuse Inpatient Program.
The On-Call colleague will need to be available for either Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday from 12:30am - 8:00am. Weekend and Holiday coverage is required.
Pay Rate: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour while working on-site with a minimum payout of 4 hours worked even if you work less than that while providing on-call work.
Additional Pay: This position will receive a $75 daily rate for the days they are on call (this rate is paid regardless of whether they are called in). The daily rate is paid in addition to the pay rate from hours worked on-site. Shifts added outside of the regular 5-day work schedule will just receive the hourly rate.
Responsibilities
Assists with the following counseling responsibilities: screening, intake, orientation, referral, counseling, crisis response, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping, and consultation with other professionals.
Participates in program administrative and clinical committees as assigned.
Represents the agency to the community.
Performs quality assurance activities.
Displays knowledge of addiction/recovery and/or behavioral health self-help group processes and principles of counseling.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED required.
Customer service and/or human services experience preferred.
Valid NYS Driver's License, based on service settings.

The Hillside Institute for Family Connections is currently hiring a Permanency Specialist who will be working with youth and families receiving services within Hillside's Finger Lakes Residential Campus. The Permanency Specialist is responsible for individualized permanency planning, which includes the delivery of Family Finding services, where extended relatives and fictive kin will be sought and gathered to support youths' legal, emotional and relational permanency. The person in this position will have continuous collaboration with the Residential clinical team and community partners, with the purpose of urgently locating and engaging family members and other significant adults, in order to build a lifetime network of supportive, caring people for each youth and family.
The Permanency Specialist II Youth delivers permanency services using the Hillside Family Finding Model or the Wendy's Wonderful Kids Child-focused Recruitment Model. Both require intensive collaboration with stake holders in order to develop emotional, relational, and/or legal permanency for youth.
Essential Job functions

Facilitate, scribe, and/or coordinate Permanency Roundtables for referred youth.

Support teams in determining the type of permanency intervention needed for youth.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides crisis counseling, information, referrals, accompaniment, advocacy, and solution focused decision making for consumers in crisis and experiencing severe mental illness;
Informs consumers of available services in the community and assists with the referral of primary and secondary consumers to services and monitors the provision of services to all consumers;
Develops and maintains assessments, service plans and service coordination for participants, using strengths-based approach;
Provide coaching of life skills, facilitates education and support groups as assigned;
Provide interventions that promote positive relationships among participants, their families, and communities;
Collaborates with community partners to develop and implement joint protocols in compliance with regulations and eligibility requirements;
Helps plan and engages in activities and events to promote community-building, individual development and empowerment;
Maintain proper documentation (record keeping, reports and statistical information) on a timely manner for all clients;

What you will do as a Mental Health Counselor:
Provide mental health counseling to American Indian population as well as some substance abuse therapy.
Conduct interviews and assessments of patients and develop corresponding treatment plans to address issues relating to both mental health and addictions.

The PAC is responsible for positive, collaborative relationships with clients, their families, the CARS' team and community partners. The PAC provides research-based assessment, counseling (individual, family, and group), crisis and clinical interventions, and case management services, including discharge planning, while assuring regulatory compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions along with planning and conducting special activities, as assigned.
* Address addictive and unhealthy behaviors with the most appropriate clinical intervention per agency guidelines.
* Be on time with client administrative paperwork activities including but not limited to: Assessments, Treatment Plans, and Discharge Summaries, document activities in accordance with agency practices, complete timely monthly reporting on time, and document group attendance in a timely manner.
* Monitor and maintain the safety and security of the clients and the facility.
* Maintain confidentiality, as per agency practices and confidentiality law.
* Effectively communicate with the team and community partners regarding client needs
* Complete monthly reporting responsibilities, as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in human services or related field; or equivalent combination of education and SUD experience total 4 years. QHP status required.
* A basic understanding of addiction and recovery issues.
* Knowledge of basic counseling techniques, including treatment planning is essential.
* Working knowledge of motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based principle of treatment and an individualized approach to treatment is desired.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Master's degree with 4+ years SUD experience. Provisional CASAC, CASAC or other QHP.

Pay Range Disclosure:
$24.00 to $30.00 per hour
