    The Alternative Placement Adolescent Center (APAC) is a 24/7 facility. Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule (days, evening, weekends). SUMMARY: The Youth Care Worker is responsible for the daily operation, direct supervision of the residents in the APAC shelter. The Youth Care Worker shall provide a safe, secure, and caring environment for up to 8 gender specific youth within a 24/7/365 work environment. They will work a scheduled shift and be on a “On Call” rotated list to accommodate staff sick calls and facility emergencies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following for a Youth Care Worker. Other duties may be assigned. Admission- Obtain paperwork, from the referral source, properly and properly use a case management system. Collect and inventory all personal property, fully understand the process of admission. Complete admission paperwork as set out by licensing requirements (PRLU) and facility guidelines. Facility Functions- shall be able to use and understand all building functions of in the facility for safety and activity purposes. Supervision of Youth - must maintain a reasonable line of sight and hearing of the youth based on their needs and circumstances. Youth shall be properly supervised 24 /7 according to licensing standards and assist with their basic needs (physical, emotional, and spiritual). Transportation of Residents- must maintain a respectful driving record to be determined by the administrative team. Required at times to take and return youth to their appointments as directed. Maintenance of Residents and Facility- shall ensure all facility conditions are safe and healthy. Shall ensure the youth are provided a minimum of 3 balanced meals daily and additional snacks and beverages according to licensing standards. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to): * Patient centered, outcomes based, evidence-based psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families ages 12 years and older * Lead support groups and/or psychoeducation groups as appropriate * Create and deliver psychoeducational webinars and workshops related to mental health topics * Collaboration with other behavioral health and medical clinicians for integrated continuity of care for patients Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to): * Using computer applications, preferably Microsoft Office suite * Timely completion of documentation within EMR * Work to address other social needs of patients and utilize appropriate external and/or internal referral sources for specialty care, hospitalization, or advanced psychiatric assessments and treatments QUALIFICATIONS * At least Master's level, licensed mental health clinician that includes but not limited to psychologists, licensed counselors, licensed social workers, and licensed marriage & family therapists among other specialties (LPC, LPCC, LISW, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, PsyD, and/or PhD) * If in process of independent licensure, will need to be licensed within 2 years of hire date * BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification or become certified upon hire * Required experience in providing counseling and mental health services, which may include evaluation, diagnosis, treatment of mental illness, and other psychological issues * Preferred 2 or more years' experience operating as an independently licensed behavioral health clinician * Preferred experience using evidence-based treatment to treat multiple behavioral health disorders, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, and PTSD * Preferred experience with behavioral interventions, critical incident event management, and case management DESIRED ATTRIBUTES * Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.     SUMMARY: The counselor/social worker is responsible for providing mental health, drug and alcohol assessments for juveniles involved in the juvenile court system. Upon assessing the juvenile, recommendations for services are provided to the court. The counselor may continue to provide counseling services to juvenile and family. All duties for this position must be done in a confidential manner pursuant to AR Code Annotated 9-27-309. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform mental health, drug and alcohol assessments. Provide a written report and make recommendations for appropriate services for the juvenile and family. Make appropriate referrals to youth service or mental health community providers. Staff cases with juvenile officers for appropriate recommendations and services. Provide crisis intervention services as needed to juveniles involved in the juvenile court system. Provide testimony in court as needed. Provide individual, family and group counseling. Research, develop and provide psycho-educational group services. May assist in training of juvenile probation staff in areas related to treatment and behavior management of adolescents. Maintain record keeping of court-ordered juveniles, including progress notes, court reports, manage a counseling provider caseload as directed by the chief probation officer. Input and collect data for counseling services, assessments, and program records. Submit reports and other data on timely basis. Maintain appropriate storage of confidential material. Provide records for review upon request as licensing and professional confidentiality allow. Report to the Child Abuse and Neglect hotline of all reports of abuse within 24 hours of the initial report. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Probation Officer or Circuit Judge. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must possess excellent oral/written communication skills, interpersonal relations and problem solving skills. The person in this position must be adept at interacting with the general public, county personnel and persons from other agencies. They will have frequent and regular contact with clients, their parents and other professionals or agencies that have an interest in this adolescent. The incumbent must be a self-starter and generally works independently. The employee will have considerable responsibility with regard to general assignments in planning time, method, manner and/or sequence of performance of their own work operations. The employee must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. The employee must have sufficient self-confidence and analytical ability to be able to assess and direct juveniles who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and/or emotionally dysregulated. The employee must be able to use a computer, printer, fax machine, copy machine and multi-line telephone. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: The incumbent must possess a Masters Degree in Counseling from a clinically focused program. Must have credential as a Licensed Counselor in the state of Arkansas. Two or more years of experience working with adolescents are preferred. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must have continuing education per their licensing requirements. Preference is given to additional hours of training that include drug/substance abuse issues, mental health areas, abuse and sexual abuse, dysfunctional family problems, divorce, etc. Bi-lingual is preferred, but not required.
