The Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center is a 15 bed secure facility housed within the Jail located at 175 Highway 50, Stateline-Tahoe, Nevada.
Primary Objectives Performs foundational-level work maintaining safety and security of the staff, detainees, visitors and juvenile detention facilities; supervising detainees according to policies, procedures and regulations; performing related work as apparent or assigned.

Key responsibilities of the role
Your North Star: Provide direct patient care and care navigation by delivering evidence-based care that is founded in awareness, education, and prevention for the perinatal mental health issues affecting our patients.
We are hiring a creative, thoughtful, and skilled person who is eager to improve access to the highest quality perinatal mental and behavioral care, with a particular focus on reducing disparities. As a member of the clinical team, you would support our whole-person program of emotional, mental and behavioral care for pregnant people before, during, and after pregnancy. **This is a full-time, salaried position. The following shifts are available: 9 am - 6 pm PT and 10 am - 7 pm MT or PT.**
Reporting to the Director of Therapy, your key responsibilities will include:
Providing one-on-one virtual care visits for Pomelo patients
Providing behavioral health and health related social needs screenings and appropriate response including diagnostic, therapy, and behavioral health interventions to pregnant and postpartum patients.
Performing ongoing psychosocial assessment of patients, providing reassurance and building rapport
Establishing individualized care plans to meet specific health needs based on evidence-based standards
Developing wellness goals by determining motivating factors and leveraging them for best possible health outcomes.
Identifying and addressing barriers that have been identified by patients.
Reducing care gaps (missed appointments, medication management, etc.) by frequent engagements with patient
Triaging of patients with urgent screening results and concerns to appropriate virtual and in-person emergency services
Collaborating with all involved teams and support services to ensure that patient and family needs are met.
Documenting all care/interactions in a timely fashion and escalating to appropriate multidisciplinary teams, as needed
Supporting group care, as needed
Who you are
Independently licensed as an LCSW, LMFT, LPC or LMHC for at least 5 years
Completed the NCMHCE, or both NCE & NCMHCE
Have at least 120 hours of clinical supervision completed
Have 5-8 years of experience providing therapy services in a hospital and/or healthcare practice
Have experience with perinatal mental health care, including: perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, trauma-informed care. Previous training with this population is required.
Are enthusiastic for promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of Pomelo's internal and external programs
Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple projects in a timely manner
Are facile with email, spreadsheets, EHRs, and other commonly used software, and willingness to work with new software
Understand the prevalence and role that birth inequity and structural racism plays in maternal morbidity and mortality
Are professionally engaged
Have experience working with clients eligible for Medicaid and/ or other public health programs
Must be willing to cross license in other states where there is a company need (you'd be supported with this process by our licensing and credentialing team).

Human Services Agency
Under supervision, perform evidence based mental and behavioral health services to children, families, individuals and groups. Support psychological and emotional well-being of families including assessment, crisis intervention, group, individual, couples and family therapy, clinical case management and consultation, foster home support services, placement stabilization, pre and post adoption support, special needs adoption clinical services, information and referral to community providers, client and staff training and supports. Mental health interventions with a strengths-based approach are provided in and out of the client's home, in the community, in school or other community-based settings to children and families interfacing with the child welfare system. Provide both a personalized and comprehensive array of services and supports to children, families and individuals experiencing homelessness, lack of basic needs, those who suffer from mental illness, have a substance use disorder and/or who have experienced trauma.
Juvenile Services Mental Health Unit
Under supervision, provides mental health services to youth or youth and families in Washoe County's Juvenile Justice system. Interventions include assessment, crisis intervention, individual, and family therapy for youth with severe emotional disturbance, substance use issues, trauma, or delinquency. For detained youth, services are provided individually, while community-based services use Multisystemic Therapy (MST), offering in-home therapy that targets moderate- to high-risk youth, addressing interpersonal, peer, school, and family conflicts to prevent deeper involvement in the justice system. MST training is provided upon hiring.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:

The Mental Health Counselor I position at Juvenile Services is not covered by a Collective Bargaining Unit.

Speak with patient/family regarding financial obligations and insurance coverage, using knowledge of hospice fees as well as potential insurance reimbursement.

* Provide consultation on impact of environmental and social factors on the child's adaptation to hospitalization and treatment.

* Participate in continuing educational opportunities, both as a presenter and as a participant, and report information back to the department and healthcare team.

* Maintain good inter-departmental communication and work, with related programs in the health care setting and other associated organizations.
* Provide counsel and support to childrenadolescents throughout the hospital, for help with bereavement or coping issues.
The intensity and frequency of patient intervention will depend on the daily census.
This position has the responsibility to organize and prioritize the daily activities of the Child Life Program. The incumbent can make decisions regarding the needs of the child, based upon his/her level of education and training.
Decisions referred to the unit manager or child life specialist include patient and/or peer conflict, unit management protocol, and unusual circumstances that do not follow established guidelines.
This position provides child life services to a varied population due to age, illness, and ethnic background. It is the expectation to involve the family unit in its entirety through the entire illness process.
Incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to neonate, infant, child, and adolescent patients and must meet standards of quality, as measured by the unit/department age specific competency standards.
