The Child and Family Services Residential Program offers a supportive environment for up to 40 children across three specialized programs. Through comprehensive care, treatment, and supervision, we equip children and families with the skills needed for a successful transition, either back to their home or to an alternative living arrangement.
The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for the assessment and delivery of quality mental health care to the youth and families served in Children's Residential Program. The Mental Health Therapist works as a member of an inter-disciplinary team to develop, assess, and modify the individual service plan. The person in this position will provide both individual and family within a variety of settings (including community, home, school, residential, etc.). The Mental Health Therapist recognizes the need for, and provides, team mentoring and clinical guidance.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Demonstrate ability to diagnose and treat children/youth and families
Provide individual and family therapy, with the potential for group therapy, if necessary, within a variety of settings (including community, home, school, residential, etc).
Depending on level of experience, provide clinical consultation and training to staff.
Act as the primary contact for the service plan with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
Integrate information from a variety of sources to complete assessments, identify service needs, and complete treatment plan.
Utilize a variety of treatment interventions including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Therapy.
Maintain case records and other required paperwork in accordance with agency standards and oversight regulations.
Participation in weekly treatment team meetings to collaborate with the team to best meet the needs of the youth we are serving
Engage families in the treatment process.
Provide clinical leadership for treatment team by promoting the integration of trauma informed care, collaborative problem solving, and therapeutic crisis intervention principles.
Participates and contributes to program Quality Improvement process.
Complies with all agency policies and procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements
Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling with a valid NYS Professional license.
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant clinical experience working with youth and families with mental health challenges.
Special Requirements
Unrestricted, valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving record and minimum insurance coverage that meets agency standards.
CPR or equivalent certification required to obtain within 60 days of hire.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Child and Family Counselor provides in-home and community-based services to Medicaid enrolled youth ages 0-21
under the Medicaid State Plan Service Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment (CPST). CPST is a multi-component service that consists of
therapeutic interventions such as counseling, as well as functional supports. Activities provided under CPST are intended to assist the child/youth
and family/caregivers to achieve stability and functional improvement in daily living, personal recovery and/or resilience, family and interpersonal

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Individualized services:
-Deliver trauma-informed, individualized services based on the child's identified strengths and needs.
-Administer appropriate identified assessments in the context of the child/youth self-identified needs, goals, and ethnic, religious, and cultural identities.
-Educate child/youth, family and collaterals on strategies and treatment options supportive to the youth's needs. Assist the child/youth, family and collaterals

-Provide restoration, rehabilitation, and support to develop skills

While the Substance Use Counselor (Methamphetamine Recovery Specialist) may assist patients with any substance use disorder issue, the position primarily focuses on clinical issues relating to methamphetamine use and/or Chemsex activities. The counselor will create a sex-positive, judgement-free atmosphere, utilizing a harm reduction approach to services and supports to meet the needs of members of the LGBTQIA community and others. A particular focus of the work is engaging with and meeting the behavioral health treatment needs of men who have sex with men who are people of color. This position collaborates extensively with the Pride Center of WNY to create, deliver, and report outreach/engagement/treatment services for individuals who self-identify as LGBTQIA and using methamphetamine.
As part of the essential functions of this role, Substance Use Counselor (Methamphetamine Recovery Specialist):
* Conducts initial psychosocial assessments and provides treatment recommendations, including the collaborative development of a harm reduction and evidence-based treatment plan in partnership with the patient.
* Effectively assesses and develops clinical recommendations to address the frequently co-occurring needs of individuals using methamphetamine and/or engaging in Chemsex activities, including recovery from chemical dependency, compulsive sexual behaviors, internalized homophobia/gender identity and other self-acceptance issues, and past traumatic experiences.
* Provides individual, group, and crisis intervention counseling services to patients, at all stages of change, via both walk-in and pre-scheduled visit types.
* Equips patients with the knowledge and resources to improve their general health through activities associated with reducing risk of drug overdose/using more safely, managing/decreasing substance use, extending periods free from substance use and/or other unwanted sexual behaviors, reducing risk of HIV, STI, HCV, and other communicable disease transmission, and/or developing strategies to avoid missed doses of prescribed medications.
* Makes referrals to a wide range of medical, behavioral health, family, and other social support/service providers in the community, based on the unique needs and preferences of each patient.
* Actively engages, to the extent each individual is comfortable, with patient identified family, friends, and other collaterals to support their treatment goals.
* Assists with the development of culturally affirming services for and engages in on-going continued education related to treatment of individuals who use methamphetamine, including those who engage in Chemsex activities, are people of color and/or are part of the LGBTQIA community.
* Collaborates extensively with the Pride Center of WNY to create, deliver, and report outreach/engagement/treatment services for individuals who self-identify as LGBTQIA and using methamphetamine.

This position is responsible for Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA) and Family/Community Partnership areas of the Early Head Start - Child Care Partnership Program, including compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and program expectations. With the Manager, coordinates and carries out the planning, implementation, and evaluation of ERSEA and Family/Community Partnership services including: supporting parents in parent engagement, a family-centered approach to services, obtaining and maintaining employment and other community-based services, health and mental health services including assuring medical insurance and medical homes are in place, following up on referrals, well-baby health visits, and immunizations. Develop relationships with parents/guardians that build trust and help develop plans for success. Supervises Family Service Worker(s) and collaborates with all Community Child Care Partners to assure parent services are implemented and integrated in all program areas. The DePaul Batavia Apartment Treatment Program is looking for a passionate mental health professional to join our team! Under the direction of the Residence Manager, the Residential Counselor provides care, rehabilitative training, support and supervision for the development and / or enhancement of community living skills to residents.
Evening and Overnight shifts will receive a $1 shift differential.

The pay range for this position is based on education & experience. :
Residential Counselor 1 $21-21.30/hour
Residential Counselor 2: $22-22.60/hour
Responsibilities
Provide teaching, monitoring and recovery oriented supports in accordance with OMH 593 and 595 including the following rehabilitative services; Assertiveness/Self-Advocacy Training, Community Integration/Resource Development, Daily Living Skills, Health Services, Medication Management Training, Parenting Training, Rehabilitative Counseling, Skill Development, Socialization, Substance Abuse Services, and Symptom Management.
Ensure that each resident on his or her caseload receives comprehensive planning in a person centered approach for; admission (including the completion of admission notes), ongoing recovery oriented services, and discharge.
Observe, monitor, document, and report resident behaviors as well as their progress in accordance with agency standards.
Assist Residents in the preparation of nutritious meals, including food preparation when needed.
Assist in planning, implementation, and support of recreational activities.
Provide safe transporting of resident when needed.
Complete household chores assigned by supervisor to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
Supervise and document resident medications in accordance with agency policies.
Perform any other duties necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the community residence.
Qualifications
RC I: High school diploma or GED required. Human services experience preferred. Driving record that meets agency's “clean driving record policy”. Must be at least Eighteen (18) years of age.
RC II: QMHS Standard. Bachelor's degree in Human Services, or an Associate's degree in Human Services with 3-years FT related paid experience, or a High school diploma and 5 years related paid experience. Driving record that meets agency's Clean Driving Record Policy. Must be at least Eighteen (18) years of age.
Work Environment
The DePaul Batavia Apartment Treatment Program provides consumers with the highest level of independence in a program licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health. The program is designed to be a preparatory step before the consumer begins to live independently within the community. An emphasis is placed on increasing personal initiative and self-reliance. Staff make routine visits and are available 24-hours a day in case of an emergency.
This is a full-time position. We have two schedule options available:

NYS CASAC Substance Abuse Counselor

Details: Under supervision of the Program Director the CASAC/CASAC-T Counselor will provide counseling services in integrated outpatient program. The CASAC Counselor provides comprehensive services to clients who may have substance use and mental health barriers to employment by applying clinical judgment to determine appropriate treatment needs and level of care. This includes performing SUD diagnostic evaluation, orientation, treatment planning, case management, counseling, intervention, crisis intervention, patient education, reporting and record keeping in both individual and group counseling settings. The CASAC/CASAC-T Counselor is also responsible for referrals and coordination of care in consultation with other professionals.
The salary range is: $20.94-$28.62/HR KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Intervention and employing a range of treatment modalities to include person centered evidence based treatment approaches to include but not limited to motivational interviewing, stages of change, trauma informed care, anger management, medication assisted treatment, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and contingency management.
Ability to perform SUD diagnostic Impression, treatment planning, individual/group counseling, family counseling, psycho-education, case management, crisis intervention, client education, referral, reporting and recordkeeping, care coordination and administrative supervision with regular supervision.
Participates in supervision regularly.
Develops and conducts group and individual counseling on a regular scheduled basis to caseload clients within the integrated outpatient program.
Obtain random observed urine samples according to established protocol.
Orients clients about program goals, objectives, rules and regulations, client's obligations, right's and program operations
Knowledge of the obligation to engage in prevention as well as treatment techniques.
Maintains and updates referral services and resources that may be useful to our client population; makes referral when necessary and appropriate.
Ability to demonstrate proficiency in English including the ability to speak, write, comprehend aurally, and read at a level necessary to perform as a CASAC Counselor.
Participates in community outreach and community relations and development activities to drive and maintain census capacity.
Ability to complete all client progress update reports in a professional and timely manner to ensure coordination of care with client linkages to include the criminal justice system and entities.
Participates in program meetings and required trainings.
Ability to complete any reasonable tasks or requests made by a supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED.
Associate Degree preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years working in a Substance Use and Human Service setting.
Must obtain Mandated reporter (2 hours) training/certificate prior to hire date.
