Provides leadership and constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.
Facilitates activities for school age children; ensures that activities are age appropriate, stimulating, fun and safe for the children.
Determines appropriate supplies and materials for recreational activities; ensures the children's safety in utilizing the same.
Provides opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through both inside and outside learning activities.
Prepares and serves children snacks and meals; ensures that children receive nutritional and tasteful food; provides positive, relaxed atmosphere during children mealtime encouraging conversation.
Organizes and supervises recreational activities; observes, monitors, and supervises children on the playground.
Exhibits control of the children and when needed displays proper discipline techniques.
Maintains the program materials in an orderly fashion; maintains accountability for materials necessary for programs.
Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and required reports (attendance, development progress, discipline reports, etc.).
Reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner.
Assists in facilitating and supervising summer Day Camp Program.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cleans up the game room, kitchen, and library daily; picks-up games and materials.
Assists with transporting children whenever needed; ensures the safety and protection of children at all times.
Attends and participates in regularly scheduled in-service training sessions.
Assists in preparing and providing field trips for children.
Completion of Safe From Harm training.
Performs other related work as required.

* Provide referral for information regarding medical concerns such as venereal disease, pregnancy, HIV and other medical issues concerning victims of sexual assault.
* Accompany victims of sexual assault (usually adult females) to follow-up medical exams, explain each step to them, and assist them in understanding the particular physical problems which affect victims of sexual assault.
* Inform victims of sexual assault and other violent crimes of their statutory Victim Rights and assess the victim's need for more in-depth counseling and refer to the appropriate services.
* Provide regular follow-up with victims of sexual assault which includes visits to their home, and any other place victims may be located.
* Help victims of sexual assault and other violent crimes file Crimes Compensation documents and assist with any follow-up requests by Crimes Compensation Bureau.
* Although each Victim Advocate is assigned to a particular area of the Circuit (Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, Okeechobee), periodically they are required to assist fellow staff members in other areas covering cases, hearings, being on-call, etc.

The ARC of the Treasure Coast, a diverse and progressive non-profit organization assisting and supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, is seeking an Out of School Counselor for our after-school program.
Responsibilities:
Provide care and supervision to children during community outings while participating in the Out of School ARC program and summer school program.
Offer age-appropriate activities that promote communication, behavioral, and social skills.
Support individuals in developing independent living skills.
Inform the supervisor regularly regarding the progress of individuals.
Attend skill improvement training opportunities.
Complete required documentation for performance measurements in the Children's Services Council grant.
Provide transportation using ARC vehicles for scheduled program activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED (or enrollment in High School or vocational program).
Preferred: One (1) year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Description:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparing, instructing and grading all class coursework
Assigning final grades
Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours to meet with students
This position may include providing assistance in the ASC.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assigning final grades and delivering grades and grade justification sheets

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
A master's degree from an accredited institution directly related to the teaching assignment -- English, Mathematics, Reading.
Either teaching experiences in the discipline or graduate training in developmental or remedial education.
The ability to recognize and respond to the individual differences of students from a culturally diverse student population.
A willingness to make students active partners in the teaching and or learning process are also required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and to present oral lectures/demonstrations, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. Some lifting of computer and electronic equipment may be required. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor your responsibilities will include:
Conduct comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history, mental status, developmental history and diagnosis; physical health and dental health; use of drugs or alcohol; education and employment; social development and functioning; activities of daily living; and family structure and relationships
Provide on-going assessment of youth's mental illness and substance use disorder, if present, and behavioral issues and the youth and families' response to treatment
Provide treatment, counseling, therapeutic mentoring, training or coordination in parenting skills, behavioral modification, family education, and family support network development, behavior management, sober living or relapse presenting skills development, with some interventions directed or performed by staff with specialty training and skills
Prepares written documentation for each service conducted

Requirements

Master's Degree in a Human Services field
Florida license in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, or Psychology and experience working with mentally ill/emotionally disturbed/chemically dependent populations
