Your Role: As a Litigation Attorney you will be expected to handle a full inventory of more complex litigated and non-litigated files, including two to three trials per year as well as discovery, arbitration, and mediation with minimal management oversight. This attorney will also be expected to advise and mentor less senior attorneys.
Your work:
Applies independent analysis and judgment to prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, trial briefs, etc. with close coordination and input from claims specialists.
Appears and advocates on behalf of CSAA IG and its member insureds.
Conducts all phases of personal injury litigation including jury trials, motions, and arbitration hearings.
Is assigned and responsible for the most complex and/or highest value cases.
Works on and responsible for handling complex legal matters or projects including matters not in litigation.
Serves as a resource for assigned legal disciplines and resolves major issues within legal specialty area with considerable independence.
Anticipates and advises on potential legal issues significantly impacting insurance and motor club operations.
Required Experience, Education and Skills
Advanced degree in related area that Requires law degree and passing of bar exam.
Certification(s) and/or licensure(s) in functional area and License from state of practice required (California)
5+ years experience in insurance defense practice with some courtroom and first or second chair trial experience
Skilled in personal injury litigation including liability assessment, causation, damages, coverage, personal injury damages and causation and the tri-partite relationship
Knowledge of general liability insurance coverage and CSAA IG policies
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized and timely manner
Proficient computer skills, including MS office and online research tools
Ability to advocate creatively, persuasively and effectively
The ability to think and act independently in a client's best interest
Knowledge and understanding of legal ethics

Role:
Under the supervision of the Solano Mental Health Program Director, the School Based Mental Health Clinician has the primary responsibility for the providing direct mental health services to children and youth at assigned school site. What You Will Do:
The Program Counselor is responsible for implementing services of the PGYCC project, serving as a Mentor. The Program Counselor provides oversight of services, monitors the assigned tasks of counselors, serves as a liaison between project staff and PGYCC personnel, conducts trainings and meetings, and works directly with youth participants.
Essential Duties:
The Program Counselor (PC) shall provide effective services based on participant needs and maintain a therapeutic environment at the YCC.
The PC shall be responsive to and supportive of participant's needs, encouraging their strengths and personal goals while holding them accountable for their behavior.
PC shall serve as a role model for the participants, developing a treatment alliance that is consistent, confidential, collaborative, and individualized.
PC shall be a visible advocate for the participants within the YCC, the community, CDCR, and county juvenile justice system. PC may participate in YCC led conflict resolution or mediation within the YCC community.
PC will participate in creating an overall therapeutic environment in partnership with YCC staff.
PC shall focus on developing the participant's identity as well as connections with their family and positive support community.
The PC will need to be trained and prepared to present curriculum and facilitate large and small groups, structured activities, and individual support to participants, communicate effectively with the YCC staff, collect and submit data and track attendance.
Additional duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
At least fifty (50) percent of the PCs, at YCC, must have a
minimum of one (1) year of experience in counseling, mentoring, or teaching experience
with offenders.
The other PCs must meet one (1) of the following criteria:
a. Certification in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), or as a substance use disorder
Counselor or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, or
b. One (1) year of experience conducting professional counseling in a community

Minimum Qualifications
Either: A Master's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a mental health related field such as psychology, counseling, social work, or psychiatric nursing.
Or: Current enrollment in the final semester of a master's program at an accredited college or university leading to a master's degree in a mental health related field such as psychology, counseling, social work, or psychiatric nursing. NOTE: Failure to submit proof of completion of master's degree within six months of appointment may be cause for release from probation or discipline in accordance with Civil Service Commission Rules.
Note: Persons who were employed by the Sacramento County Health Department, held permanent or probationary status in Sacramento County Civil Service, and were engaged in the direct delivery of mental health service in the Mental Health or Alcohol Division on July 24, 1980, may substitute their mental health experience for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Employees qualifying under this provision must have a combined minimum of six years of acceptable experience and/or education in a mental health field, such as psychology, counseling, social work, rehabilitation counseling, public health, pastoral counseling, occupational therapy, special education, or psychiatric nursing.

The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is regularly in a typical school/classroom environment with adequate light and moderate noise levels.
SUPERVISION: Indoor (classroom, play areas): Teachers must be able to actively supervise students within the classroom or in the gymnasium area for indoor/outdoor recess or physical education. Outdoor (playground, parks, parking lot): Teachers in the elementary school must be able to supervise students in their classroom or while on the playground, parking lot, or park. Overall Supervision (in all areas) students must have adult supervision at all times. It is understood that students can not be left unattended at any time and/or in the left alone without the presence of a teacher, aide, staff, or ACS approved/ fingerprinted adult(s).
EMERGENCIES: Teacher must be able to quickly summon help when an emergency arises either in the classroom, gymnasium, or on the playground. Teachers are required to render minimal first aid to students who may be injured while in the classroom, gymnasium, or on the playground.
ATTENDANCE: Teachers are required to be present daily half an hour before the students arrive until half an hour after the students depart. They are also required to be present for faculty meetings and other special functions after school, and occasionally for meetings or other functions in the evening.
