The Deli Cook at Uwajimaya prioritizes excellent customer service by performing various cooking tasks, such as boiling, steaming, deep frying, and preparing food. They assemble food items like sandwiches and sushi while maintaining a high level of service.
Position's Key Responsibilities:

Prep food products for cooking in all Deli areas.
Cook ready-to-eat items following instructions and recipes.

Prepare and package deli food condiments for hot and cold cases.
Wrap, label, and price products accurately.
Display prepared foods attractively in hot and cold cases.

+ Cook and/or bake items from scratch to include sauces, marinades and spice blends.
+ Prepare meat, fish and fowl for cooking according to standard recipes, menus, or verbal instructions; butcher larger cuts of meat, fish, and fowl
+ Prepare and cook vegetables, fruits, soups and cereals; prepare salads, quick breads, desserts and beverages
+ Prepare all types of bakery and dessert items according to standard recipes, menus, or verbal instructions
+ Operate cooking and kitchen equipment which may include, but not limited to, grills, burners, woks, ovens, microwaves, slicers, toasters, food processors and blenders.
+ Review preparation lists and make adjustments as needed to meet production schedule or specific needs; test new recipes and ingredients.
+ Maintain par inventory levels; rotate stock; store leftover ingredients and products.
+ May complete forms including par order forms, waste sheets, temperature logs, and/or production logs.
+ May clean kitchen equipment and work area or direct this function **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
