Hourly:
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

The Prep Cook is responsible for these duties:
Wash, clean, chop, dice, grate, slice a variety of meat, poultry vegetables and other food items and store under proper food handling procedures.
Prepare ready-to-eat products and items for easy preparation during service.
Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.
Understand and comply consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures

The Entry Line Cook is responsible for these duties:
Grill menu items, use deep fryer, and prepare soups and other special items. Prepare all food as directed in a timely and sanitary manner.
Ensures food goes out quickly, efficiently and of top quality.
Comprehension of each station, recipes and cooking techniques.
Understanding and daily execution of prep lists
Assist and guide other line cooks and prep cooks on a daily basis for prep and other tasks in the kitchen

Additional Education/Experience for Entry Line Cook: Basic culinary skills knowledge and a minimum of 6 months in a professional kitchen.

The Assistant Master Cook is responsible for the daily preparation and food production of the Peppermill restaurants. * To prepare high quality and consistent food products for his/her assigned outlet. * Works in close conjunction with Restaurant Chef and Master Cooks on all items pertaining to the outlet, maintaining proper par stocks, inventory control and quality of purchased goods.
* Checks the maintenance of all kitchen equipment and reports any damaged or broken pieces to management as quickly as possible.

Qualifications:
* Two or more years in hotel restaurant/casino outlet or individual restaurant, pertaining to the specialized high-volume area (i.e. Coffee Shop, Banquet, Room Service, etc.)
* Must be familiar with all aspects of the cuisine for the restaurant (Wok cookery, Continental cuisine, etc.)
* Culinary background must have an emphasis on high volume, quality cuisine and sanitation skills.

Responsibilities

Education/Experience: The ideal candidate for this position should have previous experience as a line cook, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a passion for cooking. They should also have a strong attention to detail, be able to follow recipes accurately, and have knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines. Additionally, the candidate should be able to work well in a team environment and have excellent communication skills. Experience in a private club or fine dining establishment is preferred.
Language/Communication: Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English). Must be able to work as part of a team and maintain open communication with managers and fellow coworker. Must display professional demeanor and communicate in professional language at all times.
