Operations Contributions Maintain a clean, tidy, orderly physical space: straighten shelves and displays, clean up after any self- staff- or customer-created clutter. Consolidate or remove trash and recycling. Pull and sort returns to publishers. Shelve incoming, misplaced, and backstock books according to class codes in Bookmanager. Assist in the setting up, hosting, and breaking down of in-store or off-site events Assorted data entry and other tasks as they come up. Creative Contributions Generate ideas for book displays, or subsections of shelves. Regularly provide staff picks for display in-store and online. Qualifications for Bookseller: An interest in books and a non-judgmental attitude about what people like to read. Positive attitude and ability to maintain a friendly disposition in a busy retail environment. Ability to learn and navigate new software and sleuth books on search engines. A commitment to supporting your coworkers and contributing to a positive workplace. Well-organized, able to multitask, but also attentive to detail. Strong communication skills.
