Removing Barriers to Healthcare Access WER West End Rd GardensThe Gardens & Food Resources Assistant provides program support for general maintenance, oversight, development, and sustainability of Open Door Community Health Centers' (ODCHC) community and demonstration gardens and food pantries. The Gardens & Food Resources Assistant is responsible for knowing about available community food resources and basic eligibility requirements for accessing community food resources. Additional support duties include: collaboration with staff, patients/members, and community members on projects and initiatives to improve food security and food access education for patients/members; collaboration with other Member Services staff to disseminate food access information to clinic care teams and to identify ODCHC patients for garden and food resource referrals and participation as appropriate; coordination with other community agencies as applicable to conduct related community outreach and leverage partnerships. Compensation Range: $24.00-$27.87 This is a temporary 24 hour a week position from April to October 2025. All new hires will begin at the base wage of this position. Hmong and Spanish speakers who successfully pass a language exam will receive an additional .75 hourly differential to their wage. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports maintenance and development of ODCHC gardens, food pantries, and other programs initiatives. Supports staff and community involvement in ODCHC gardens and food resource projects. Supports initiatives to identify patients/members for project participation. Be aware of available community food resources and access criteria. Disseminates information to staff and patients/members as appropriate. Maintain detailed and accurate record keeping of daily activities that support the garden, as well as cataloging photographs for garden updates. Attends meetings and trainings as assigned. Assists with grant project deliverables and tracks project data as appropriate. Other duties and responsibilities as designated by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish constructive professional working relationships among a diverse workforce. Ability to identify and differentiate needs of patients/members and provide assistance and stimulate interest in accessing opportunities to increase and promote food security. Ability to effectively present information to staff, patients, and the community. Ability to work as a member of a team and independently as needed.
