The Utility Person / Dishwasher is responsible for many duties that have a great impact on the guests' dining experience. Guests consistently rate cleanliness as the most important factor in deciding whether to return to a restaurant, so each Utility Person / Dishwasher must acquire the skill, knowledge, and ability to execute the job with excellence. The Utility Person / Dishwasher is responsible for general cleanliness inside and outside the restaurant. Dishwashing is an integral part of this position.
Cleanliness:
Provides clean, sparkling silverware and dishes to the guest.
Cleans the inside of the restaurant to provide a pleasant, safe environment for guests and Co-workers.
Cleans around the outside of the building and the parking lot.
Checks, cleans, and stocks the rest rooms.
Empties trash into the dumpster and keeps the dumpster, trash cans and back dock area clean.
Thoroughly cleans and organizes the utility area.
Performs duty roster and ensures cleanliness, services, and quality standards are met.
Follows local health department laws.
Operational Excellence:
Stocks Cook, Line, and Server areas with appropriate glasses, silverware, and dishes.
Maintains excellent organization, speed, and cleanliness.
Brings equipment and facility problems to the attention of the Manager.
Guest Service:
Knows and follows position responsibilities as they relate to just-in-time delivery.

+ Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
+ Keeps dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
+ Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
+ Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces.
+ Removes trash and places it in designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
+ Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
+ Helps load and unload supplies and product.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
* Cooks or otherwise prepares food according to recipe.
* Prepares, cooks, and serves meats, sauces, vegetables, soups, and other foods.

* Performs all main line food production duties with specific items determined by assigned shift.

Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by formal training, or additional equivalent experience.
* At least five (5) years of directly related restaurant cooking experience which demonstrates a working knowledge of high-volume food production, food service production, food service positions, equipment, and supervisory techniques in this field.
* Candidates must have the ability to instruct and train others as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks occurring at the same time.
* Must have or obtain an Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire.
* Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: hair follicle drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment and hearing test. Applicants not located near a testing facility are responsible for paying for travel to the nearest testing facility.
* Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
* Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
* Must be able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.

Job Duties
Greet customers/visitors, provide information and/or refer as appropriate; review and direct phone and mail communications; act on routine requests.
Operate equipment and/or computer systems within unit, including point of sale (POS) systems.
Schedule and maintain calendar of appointments and meetings; schedule conference rooms.
May coordinate travel arrangements, make reservations, and process reimbursements.
Compile and organize materials from different sources to draft e-mails and memos, prepare documents, meeting materials, and reports.
