Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
Request, store, label, rotate, and dispose of all food and supply items, perishable and non-perishable.
Oversee meal preparation in absence of Director and Manager.
Maintain sanitary conditions during all food preparation and delivery by following correct infection control procedures and by thoroughly cleaning work areas and equipment in the department including walls and floors.
Follow proper cleaning procedures as per schedules.
Receive/verify and put stock away.
Adhere to work/time schedules.
Maintain equipment in proper sanitary and operating condition.
Operate all electric, gas and steam equipment properly.
Set up portable steam table and serve in dining room.
Set up and serve on tray line.
Follow therapeutic menu sheets and meal forms.
Organize duties so that foods are prepared for service at appropriate times and within acceptable temperature ranges.
Prepare food and beverages according to standardized recipes, production sheets and menus.
Qualifications
Education and Training - Some high school or vocational training in the food service industry is preferred. Must annually attend inservice programs as mandated by the N.Y. State Health Code.
Experience - One year of related experience required.
Character - The individual must possess good moral character, patience, and compassion for the elderly.

About Your Compensation
Compensation for this position starts at $20.00/Hour and, with demonstrated experience and qualifications, candidates may earn up to $23.00/Hour.
About Your Work Day
Follows recipe cards, prepares food for the menu items ensuring taste, presentation, and temperature of food.

About Your Compensation

About Your Work Day
Following recipe cards, prepares food for the menu items ensuring taste, presentation, and temperature of food.
Maintains a food safety and clean working environment.
Competent communication with FOH Managers on buffet items and their ingredients,
Proper Storage, Labeling, and rotation of products (FIFO).
Positive team player who is dependable and punctual.
Cooks may work full-time or part-time with some opportunities for overtime, depending on schedule needs. Typically working lunch and evening services in eight-hour shifts, many Cooks will be required to work weekends and may not receive two days off in a row if working full-time.
