DESCRIPTION
Under supervision, perform a variety of duties related to hot and cold production and service to customers, according to established procedures and quality standards. Prepare menu items in advance of serving and to order for cafeteria, tray-line and special functions, according to department standardized recipes. Prepare food items to the highest standards with respect to appearance, taste, temperature, and portion control.
The Cook will also perform meat fabrication, fish cutting, sauce making. Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served. Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures. Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, saute burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
Prepares item for grilling, sauteing or other cooking methods. Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes. Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen. Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Chef, Sous Chef or manager-on-duty.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) year experience as a cook in a large restaurant, hotel, or complex healthcare facility.
Ability to prepare and coordinate food orders to support timely and efficient delivery to patients and special functions, according to department standardized recipes.
Demonstrated knowledge of food and food products.

Annual Full Pay Range: $42,992 - $53,432 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Note: Coffee shops, small grab and go kiosks, and sandwich shops are not considered qualifying cooking experience.
Substitution
One (1) year of the required experience can be substituted by any of the following: completion of a one (1) year culinary arts certificate program; or completion of an apprenticeship program certified by a nationally recognized culinary arts organization; or possession of an Associate's degree in culinary arts.

Job Overview
This is a union position.
Facility Cook position Healthright360! hands-on cooking skills, knowledge of food production and daily meal service, with the ability to multi-task food services functions meal execution on time. Additionally, the Cook ensures safety of food handling practices, freezer pulls/ proper sanitation, utilization of the FIFO method volunteer and team concept organizations / Meal service.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure meals are well balanced, nutritious, and appealing.
Reduce unnecessary waist' ensures highest quality and services.
Follows production menu' with guidance and directives from Chef de Partee.
Meal preparation and cooking and meal service/ execution of meal service
Organize supplies and receive deliveries.
Able to communicate and organize Volunteers with facility chef.
Food Storage and Safety Responsibilities
Manage food storage, proper refrigeration dating' and rotation system.
Maintain professional safety standards, cleanliness, and sanitation in accordance with health department codes.
Maintains clean kitchen and surroundings operations.
Notify supervisor of equipment needs.
Treatment Setting Responsibilities
Ensure that all kitchen volunteer workers are familiar with safe food handling.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
3 or more years experience with back off the house hands on cooking skills.
HS/GED or Culinary school

Key Purpose
The Cook will accurately and efficiently fulfill prep lists, tasks, and food preparation for various meal periods to include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but ISS/Guckenheimer may identify additional responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ from account to account, depending on the business needs and client requirements.
Success Criteria
Ensure:
● Kitchen organization and cleanliness provides a safe environment for all employees and guest
● Workplace Safety guidelines, policies, and SOPs are followed daily
● Food Safety guidelines, policies, and SOPs are followed daily
● HACCP guidelines, policies, and SOPs are followed daily
● All internal audit guidelines, policies, and SOPs are followed daily
● Ability to work safely with large volume culinary equipment including slicer, large mixer, food processors, blenders, and chopper
Key Accountabilities
● Clock in and out for workday and clock in and out during breaks.
● Always provide the highest quality of service in accordance with ISS/Guckenheimer and client standards.
● Utilize food preparation procedures in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local guidelines and regulations to ensure high quality food service is provided.
● Basic knowledge of cooking and prep techniques as required by your work assignment
● Execute NetMenu recipe preparation of food items, as directed by production sheets and/or LC, SC, or Executive Chef.
● Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment and must follow ISS/Guckenheimer, and government regulatory rules and procedures.
● Notify management when there are any ingredient discrepancies/availability, food/equipment safety, or any other situation that requires management attention.
● Attend all meetings of the day.
● May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
● Work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
● Reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds.
● Utilize team lift, transportation carts, and any other means of assistance when dealing with heavy loads.
● Come to work properly dressed according to the dress code.
● Employee must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
