Position Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment, located at the year-round Ken Garff University Club at Rice Eccles Stadium. The Cook is responsible for the planning, direction, monitoring, and execution of food preparation for the facility. The Cook is expected to perform position-related duties that include, but are not limited to:
Dietary
Prepare nutritious, well-prepared and presented meals in a timely and consistent basis in accordance with written menu, approved recipes, special diet requirements, and number of persons served.
Ensure food, food preparation, equipment, and storage areas are maintained in accordance with the sanitation requirements.
Serve food according to dietary guidelines, checking for completeness and accurateness of the food served.
Review residents' diet information and care plans and discuss with Foodservice Director as necessary to make appropriate changes.
Monitor portion control guidelines for individual residents.
Maintain sufficient inventory as specified by state licensure bureau, and purchase food items within budgeting parameters.

Complete weekly grocery inventory and shopping lists.

Bring the Executive Director/Assistant Executive Director's attention to any deficiencies that may arise and correct as necessary.
Ensure compliance to policies relating to work site safely, blood-borne pathogens, hazard communication.
Ensure compliance with respect to risk management; death, the dying and the aging process; fire safety; disaster preparedness; residents' rights; and grievance procedures.
Assist during a state survey or other in-house inspection of records as necessary.

POSITION ENVIRONMENT

Overview
The Cook is responsible for preparing menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment, located at the year-round Ken Garff University Club at Rice Eccles Stadium. The Cook must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction. Portion control, food waste and sanitation are additional areas that the Cook must be aware of while operating in the kitchen.
This role will pay a hourly wage of $17.00 to $20.00.

Responsibilities
Responsible for cooking and packaging food product which is prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
Receives verbal orders from the front counter staff for food product requirements for guest orders.
Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items. Food must be fresh and of high quality when served to the guests.
Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products served in the concession stand.
Responsible for cleaning, stocking and restocking of workstations and displays.
Responsible for operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers and ovens.
Ensures that all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away and floor is swept and mopped at end of shift. The Cook must be checked out before ending the shift by the Floor Supervisor to ensure the concession stand meets cleanliness standards.
Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
Qualifications
Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations.

Position Summary
Responsible for food prep, cooking, and cleaning kitchen and dishes. Clean, cut, or peel foods to prepare them for cooking and arranging on serving dishes. Kitchen employees follow directions from executive chef. In addition, food preparation workers clean and maintain work areas and equipment.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $15 to $16.

About the Venue
Located in historic downtown Provo, Utah the Utah Valley Convention Center opened its doors in 2012 as the premiere meeting space in Utah County. The UVCC boasts the perfect blend of modern architecture, flexible meeting space, and breathtaking interior and exterior views of the nearby Wasatch Mountains. This combined with its functional floor plan makes it the perfect venue to host any event.
Responsibilities
JOB DUTIES: (including to but not limited to)
Clean, cut or peel various foods to prepare for cooking or serving.
Prepare foods according to banquet orders.
Preparation and set up of hot and cold plates as directed.
Arrange food on serving dishes.
Give food to waiters and waitresses to serve to customers.
Maintain and clean all equipment related areas used in food prep, serving and storing.
Handle and move objects.
Perform activities that use the whole body.
Monitor events, materials, and surroundings.
Communicate with supervisors, peers or subordinates.
Estimate sizes, quantities, time, cost or materials needed.
Control machines and processes.
Evaluate information against standards.
Establish and maintain relationships.
Other duties as assigned by Director of Food and Beverage and the Executive Chef.
SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Have a medium level of social contact. Ability to work closely with kitchen staff, but also spend time alone cooking.
Provide excellent service to customers.
General knowledge for the health and safety of patrons and staff.
