Key Responsibilities: Complete knowledge of hot and cold line stations. Prep food items and prepare cold food items utilizing knives, slicers and other kitchen equipment. Skillfully prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes in adherence to menu specifications, maintaining a superior standard of culinary excellence Employ various cooking techniques and utilize kitchen equipment effectively to achieve desired flavors and textures. Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion size for all food items, upholding the resort's high culinary standards. Conduct rigorous quality checks on ingredients to ensure they meet the resort's exacting quality criteria. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, strictly adhering to sanitation and safety guidelines. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff, contributing to a positive and productive work environment. Utilize knives, slicers and other kitchen equipment safely and responsibly. Cook and plate food according to recipes and menus utilizing a variety of equipment, including broilers, outdoor grills, stoves, fryers, ovens, steamers and kettles. Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly. Rotate food in walking coolers and freezers to minimize waste and spoilage. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards. Set up hot and cold line stations and food trams for transport. Serve food in culinary stations while interacting with guests. Stock and maintain designated food stations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area. Complete safety training and certifications Coordinate and communicate effectively with fellow kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Skills and Experience Minimum of two years of experience as a culinary cook in a restaurant and / or banquet environment Ability to read and understand recipes, instructions and safety information in English. Ability to obtain a food safety card. Attention to detail. Proficient in using knives and other kitchen tools for cutting, chopping, and slicing ingredients accurately and efficiently. Capable of performing role in a busy work environment Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and efficiently handle high-pressure situations while maintaining precision and quality. Strong communication abilities to liaise with team members and convey information accurately and efficiently. Capacity to thrive in a collaborative team environment, actively contributing to the shared objectives of the kitchen. Willingness to embrace new opportunities for learning and growth within a dynamic culinary setting. Capable of working scheduled hours, including weekdays, weekends, holidays and rotating schedule. Physical Requirements Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and / or reach repeatedly. Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds and carry, pull, and push heavy objects and materials. Able to be on feet and moving around for entire shift. Manual dexterity of hand to use all kitchen equipment. Ability to perform duties with varying temperature ranges.
