Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho has been serving girls since 1937. Our Resident Camp operates at Camp Four Echoes, a council-owned property of over 200 acres near Worley, ID. Over 500 girls each summer ages 5-17 enjoy programs in STEM, arts and crafts, cooking, drama, swimming, boating, hiking, and other skill-building fun. Each session, girls lead the way by planning their own activities with their camper group. Each week has a theme and campers plan activities and meals related to that theme. Camp Four Echoes, a girl scout camp, is located on the wooded shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Six living units house 18-24 girls weekly. Each unit has flush toilets and running water, but no electricity. Meals are provided in a group setting in our central dining hall. We also have a staff lounge for your time off.
Kitchen Aide staff live on-site beginning June 3rd to August 15th for the 2025 Camp Season - * Dates subject to change according to position.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Head Cook, the Assistant Cook will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation and other kitchen activities, such as filling food orders for cookouts and trips for girls ages 5-17 and seasonal camp staff. This position is also accountable to assist in providing for the general safety and empowering the personal growth and skill development of the food service staff. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:

Provides healthy meals to staff during staff training and post-camp clean up. Kitchen staff should be prepared to stay one day later than the other staff in order to finish clean up, storage and inventory.
Takes the lead on pack-out requests, communicates effectively with Unit Leaders and the Head Cook on menu planning, food orders and availability
Takes the lead on recording waste generated during daily meals and pack-outs. Communicate results to Head Cook and Camp Director; devise ways of reducing overall food waste

Follows all procedures and regulations according to the GSEWNI Council, GSUSA, and state and federal guidelines and laws and the American Camp Association

Position Summary
