Position Summary
Cook is responsible to the Corps Officer for the preparation and cooking of food items for assigned meals and for corps functions/events; accountable for maintaining a clean, orderly, stocking kitchen and pantry, and for training additional personnel as assigned. Essential Functions
Plan and prepare daily meals and handle other meal preparations as directed. Ensure nutritious preparation and attractive presentation of all meals. Store all fresh food properly and timely; maintain walk-in refrigerator in clean, orderly fashion, and ensure food processed timely in first-in/first-out manner. Ensure maximum sanitation maintained in preparation of all foods, in case and proper cleaning of all equipment, and in personal hygiene. Observe all safety rules and regulations. Oversee and train personnel and/or volunteers as assigned. Report emergencies, accidents, and equipment breakdowns to supervisor immediately. Participate in staff meetings as requested. Must be in good physical health and mental health, capable of meeting the program demands. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Perform all other duties as assigned.
