Complies with OSHA/British Columbia Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation requirements and Risk Management programs and policies, adheres to safety rules and regulations, and practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures.
Responsible for performing other Dining Services duties when assigned by community leadership in the following areas, but not limited to:
Performs dishwashing tasks to properly wash and sanitize all dishes and china, silverware, glassware, utensils, and cookware.
Operates dish machine(s) according to manufacturer instructions.
Performs light janitorial duties, including but not limited to sweeping work areas, sanitizing production areas, and emptying trash.
Cleans assigned kitchen equipment, including but not limited to stoves, ovens, fryers, microwaves, mixers, slicers, refrigerators, freezers, worktables, prep sinks, ice makers, coffee machines, hoods, and ventilation screens.
Assists with service in the dining areas as needed.

ServSafe Manager Certificate.
Local Health Department Food Handler Card.
Prior culinary apprenticeship or training a plus.

The preparation's main responsibility would assist in prepping and cutting fish, meats & vegetables, restocking inventory and maintaining superb cleanliness of the working area, also to grow and help and learn line stations.
Carefully follow standard recipes while preparing assigned items for food service
Prepare and cook all food items as laid out in the menu and in accordance with the specifications on the prep sheet
Handle line assignments as scheduled (station prep and station service)
Handles leftover food items as instructed by the Chef.
Cleans assigned workstation areas
Consistently used safe and sanitary food handling practices according to Local Health and State Laws
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
1+ years of experience as a prep cook
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices
Should be well versed in culinary terms with thorough understanding of proper cooking methods
Should have clear understanding of knife work
Ability to operate within a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
Frequent standing for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads
Frequent walking to collect or deliver goods in various kitchens and/or reception areas
Excellent physical fitness, visual acuity, and sense of smell to work in the kitchen safely
Culinary Degree is a plus
PAY RANGE
$18.00 to $20.00 hourly, commensurate with experience
