Calibration Technician will apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment in the Acoustical, Chemical, Dimensional, DC/Low Frequency, RF/Microwave, Fluid, Mechanical, Optical, Thermodynamics, and Time & Frequency disciplines to ensure measurement accuracy. Calibration Technician will identify and utilize appropriate manual and automated measurement procedures.
This position will normally receive no instruction on work, applying job skills and company policies and procedures to complete a wide range of difficult tasks, and working on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Calibration Technician will perform laboratory housekeeping and may perform some administrative duties. Calibration Technician may be asked to report opinions and interpretations.
Responsibilities and Duties
Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE) in one or more of the following disciplines - Acoustical, Chemical, Dimensional, DC/Low Frequency, RF/Microwave, Fluid, Mechanical, Optical, Thermodynamics, and Time & Frequency, in order to ensure compliance with published specifications
Working with a range of RF-enabled devices including cell phone antennas, amplifiers, two-way radios, satellite systems, and internet access points.
Troubleshooting circuits used in RF transmission independently and with site engineers.
Identifying and repairing faults in finished assemblies making adjustments as required.
Identifying the causes of faults and work with on-site teams to implement preventative measures so that they do not happen again.
Model creation, assembly, tuning, and plan development as well as modifying antenna prototypes, parts, and assemblies.
Maintaining documentation of test cases.
Performing routine antenna capability tests.
Maintain primary and/or intrinsic calibration standards
Maintain secondary and/or working calibration standards
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision equipment
Develop calibration procedures and methods, according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and other technical requirements
Collect, compile, measure, summarize, and record data gathered during calibration.
Identify IM&TE out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action via adjustments, component replacement, correction factors, etc
Identify and correct measurement errors, as applicable
Prepare calibration reports and certificates
Adapt existing calibration equipment, standards, and techniques to accomplish unique measurements tasks for which they are not principally used
Perform uncertainty evaluation and analysis for measurement standards and associated measurement processes
Train subordinates in calibration concepts and procedures
Interact with other technicians, Customer Service Representatives, Account Managers, and customers

Qualifications
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
Must be able to perform general math and algebra functions
Understanding of Basic Statistics
Must possess good written and oral, communication skills
Technical writing ability
Intermediate ability to troubleshoot repair, align and optimize precision equipment
Intermediate computer skills
Proficient in use of MS Word and Excel
Minimum three years of calibration experience some of which can be offset with formal metrology training
Knowledge of Quality Management system (ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and ANSI Z540)

Receives and unloads incoming samples or consignments in accordance with DOT regulations and verifies receipt against Chain of Custody (COC), matches it to the corresponding quote and notes discrepancies daily. Verifies that COC's are accurate, complete, and correct and seeks resolution for those that are not.
Logs samples into Lab Management System daily to assign a lot number for tracking purposes and distributes paperwork to Project Managers.
Labels samples so they may be identified by the lot number assigns and delivers samples to appropriate labs for analysis daily.

Job Description
Logs and tracks the receipt and shipment of all samples and verifies receipt of samples. Assists in preparing bottle kits for delivery to clients and ensures accurate and timely documentation of sample log in, labeling, and routing. Determines the priority level and appropriate testing procedures of samples according to Chain of Custody as well as labels and stores samples in accordance with documented procedures. Additionally, the Sample Control Technician I may be responsible for pick-up and delivery of samples as well as additional customer service, driving, or courier duties as necessary to support laboratory and client needs. Sample Control Technicians will also be responsible for proper disposal of samples and waste in accordance with all applicable procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Receives and unloads incoming samples or consignments in accordance with DOT regulations and verifies receipt against Chain of Custody (COC), matches it to the corresponding quote and notes discrepancies daily. Verifies that COC's are accurate, complete, and correct and seeks resolution for those that are not.
* Logs samples into Lab Management System daily to assign a lot number for tracking purposes and distributes paperwork to Project Managers.
* Labels samples so they may be identified by the lot number assigns and delivers samples to appropriate labs for analysis daily.
* Prepares bottle kits daily to be shipped to clients to collect samples and return for analysis in accordance with established procedures including EPA and DOT requirements.
* Forwards samples to other laboratories in accordance with DOT regulations as needed to run tests that are not performed at that location.
* Disposes of spent samples, waste and other potentially hazardous materials in accordance with established procedures.
* Monitors freezer and cooler temperatures daily to confirm that the readings are within SOP guidelines.

* Maintains and promotes safety and conducts all operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.

Instructor qualifications:
Graduate of the Navy Instructor Training Course (CIN: A-012-0077) (NEC 9502) or an equivalent instructor training course.
Minimum of three (3) years of technical experience in the subject matter to be instructed.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a military training environment.
Knowledge of learning principles, methods of presentation, testing and remediation procedures, curriculum, training aids, and maintenance procedures related to the course.
Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of learning principles, presentation methods, testing and remediation procedures, curriculum development, training aids, devices, electronic podiums, technical training equipment (TTE), lab equipment, and associated operation and maintenance procedures.

Technician Electro-mechanical (Aviation) Status: Non-Exempt Department: Electromechanical Shop (1131) Starting Hourly Pay Scale $25.00-$27.00 Overall Hourly Pay Scale $25.00-$30.36 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:55AM-2:30PM (40 hours/week), subject to overtime
SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for the repair/overhaul of pneumatic/electrical operated aircraft components. The position cross-trains in other departments. The position requires the ability to read/write/understand the English language, following directions, and work in various teamwork settings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Test, disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble aircraft components.
* Work overtime and holidays on a short notice.
* Follow customers special instructions and requirements.
* Follow all company procedures and policies.
* Follow all safety and security policies and regulations.
* Back up department functions, cross-train in other departments and performs other duties as necessary.
* Report to work on a regular and consistent basis.
REQUIRED ABILITY TO:
* Read and understand component maintenance/overhaul manuals.
* Read and understand drawings, wiring schematics and flow diagrams.
* Be a reliable self-starter.
* Demonstrate the use of common hand tools.
* Demonstrate the use of torque wrenches, micrometers, dial calipers and multi-meters.
* Stand and work for long periods of time.
* Lift, move, push and pull up to fifty (50) lbs. on a consistent basis.
* Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills in English.

* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
* 6 months + of mechanical experience.
DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
* Airframe or Airframe and Powerplant license.
* 1 year + of experience of electro-mechanical experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Continuous work in manufacturing/production setting.
* Continuous walking and standing, and lifting, pushing and pulling heavy objects throughout the work day.
