These positions may start between March through May and may be employed for through the summer of 2025 only or may continue for a duration of up to one year. These positions are great opportunities to gain experience that may lead to a permanent position with MnDOT.
The responsibilities for each area include, but are not limited to:
Roadway Construction Inspection: incumbents will provide support to contract administration and field inspection personnel.
Surveys: incumbents will assistance in performing field survey responsibilities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications for each classification are as follows:
TRANSPORTATION ASSOCIATE
A valid Class D Driver's License AND the ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver - Class B license with no air brake restrictions and tanker endorsement.
TRANSPORTATION GENERALIST
Twelve months of experience performing activities in either Surveys (e.g., land, location, and construction surveys, etc.), or Construction (roadway, bridge construction, residential or commercial instruction) or related activities.
OR
A two year Civil or Construction Technology Degree or the following four-year degrees: Architectural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering; Land Surveying / Geomatics; or equivalent
TRANSPORTATION GENERALIST SENIOR
Two years of experience performing contract administration (roadway and/or bridge construction) or Surveys activities (e.g., land, location, and construction surveys, etc.) or related activities.
NOTE: A Two year Civil or Construction Technology Degree or the following four-year degrees: Architectural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering; Land Surveying / Geomatics; or equivalent may substitute for one year of experience.

Job Summary
The laborer is responsible for performing many different tasks that require physical labor during all phases on the construction site. Safety
Personally accountable for preventing injury and illness to self and for protecting company assets. Following plant safety rules is mandatory.
Every injury sustained or even suspected while on the job must be reported immediately to your direct supervisor.
Be familiar with all chemicals used in your assigned area and understand any injury or health problem potential inherent in the use or handling of such chemicals.
Know the location, use and purpose of all safety equipment in your work area.
All emergency equipment, fire doors and emergency exit routes are to be kept unobstructed and in good condition.
Adhere to personal protection guidelines set forth by the company.
Maintain a sense of orderliness, keeping materials, supplies and equipment well organized and in good condition.
Ensure work area is clean and free from safety hazards.
All guards must be in place prior to routine operation of any equipment and must be inspected daily.

Physical Requirements
Strong attention to detail.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform basic turning and body movements.
Ability to work in a hot environment.
Ability to work in a dusty environment.
Ability to be on feet for up to 8 hours a day.
Ability to wear a respirator.
Ability to work with hazardous chemicals.
Must be able to wear proper PPE. (Respirator, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective coveralls.)
