Offer an advanced Python Coding Elective for students interested in exploring more in-depth skills and engaging further in the Software Development pathwary High School Computer Science Instructor Teach a four-course pathway that includes Python programming and web development using HTML5 and CSS. Prepare students for advance study and career opportunities in coding and web development. Professional Development: To ensure success, teachers will participate in TechSmart's Teacher Coding Bootcamps, an intensive professional learning program delivered remotely via Zoom. These Baootcamps will provide the knowledge and confidence needed to deliver the computer science curriculum effectively. Middle School Teacher: 100 hours of professional learning during the grant project. High School Teacher: 250 hours of professional learning during the grant project. During these courses, teachers will: Complete the same lessons, activities, and coding projects as their students. Write over 2,500 lines of code per course, including 100+ coding exercises and four large projects. All costs associated with the Coding Bootcamps will be covered by the district. Other Requirements: Teach engaging, standards-aligned computer science courses using provided curriculum. Incorporate hands-on coding projects and activities to build students' skills and confidence. Complete required professional development to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum. Collaborate with school staff to suppport students' success in the computer science pathway. Possess the physicial and mental attributes required to perform all essential functions.
