School Bus Aide - Job Description
Starting at $19/Hr + $200.00 SIGN ON BONUS!
This position is responsible for providing service excellence as they supervise the transportation of student passengers and ensure their safety. They are also responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle.
Essential Job Functions:
Incumbent may perform any or all of the following:
Clean and properly maintained uniforms and required ID's should be worn for all work related activities and trainings
Maintaining and appropriately distribute paperwork
Complete daily timesheets
Accurately record attendance
Complete incidents forms when problems arise
Transportation of students
Know the route for pick-up and drop-off of students and able to give driving directions as needed
Review student's appearance and report any changes in appearance
Ensure students are buckled in securely
Load and secure wheelchairs as instructed
Off load students at correct destination and to authorized person
Liaison between home and school when absent occurs, changes in release, or when problems occurred during transport
Assist driver in advising and observing dangerous conditions
Cleaning of vehicle
Conduct weekly thorough cleaning of inside of vehicle
Conduct daily inspections for loose or moveable article to ensure they are secured
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Essential Skills (Minimum qualifications individual must possess when entering position) - i.e. skillsets, education, certifications, etc.
Minimum of 18 years old
Be able to provide a valid government issued photo identification card (i.e. State ID, State Driver's License, passport, Military ID)
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Attend all trainings and meetings as required and needed
Current and clean criminal abstract (obtained annual)
Negative TB test result (obtained every 2 years skin test and every year for chest x-ray)
CPR and First Aid Certified
Must be able to work flexible split shift
Capable of adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and telling time
Carries out instructions given orally, written or diagram form
To securely transport students in a clean and safe environment while providing service excellence to students, school, and community

* Provides excellent customer service ensuring guest satisfaction.

Required Skills:

The CDL Shuttle Driver, under the general supervision of the Shuttle Supervisor, provides safe and courteous and on-time transportation to resort guests and staff to and from fixed shuttle stops both on resort and off, during a scheduled shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
Must be able to communicate by radio and/or cell telephone.
Must be able to provide verbal and/or written reports and respond to operational issues per prescribed policy.
Must have a clean driving record and a valid Vermont Commercial Driver License, Class C with a Passenger Endorsement.
Drivers are subject to random DOT drug and alcohol testing and must have a valid license and DOT medical examiners card at the time of hire.
Must undergo and successfully pass an annual DOT medical examination.
Must be able to perform pre-and-post-trip vehicle inspections, cleaning and servicing to assist in maintaining vehicles in a safe operating condition.
Must be able to follow an on demand schedule of pick-ups and drop-offs on resort as well as at transportation hubs and terminals.
Must follow a schedule of pick-ups and drop-offs at on resort designated stops as well as all guest hotel, condominium, town home or cottage locations as well as off resort locations designated for employee pick-up and drop off.
Must adhere to traffic regulations, collect fares and provide verbal information to the public regarding routes, schedules and transfer points.
Must be willing to greet every customer in a friendly, professional manner.
Must have or be willing to develop a working knowledge of the history and amenities Jay Peak Resort and regional points of interest in the US and Canada.
Must be flexible with work shifts/hours, including overtime, to service late departs and arrivals, peak volume periods, vacated shifts, and other emergency situations.
Must follow all Jay Peak, Inc. work rules and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook and through management's instruction.
Must be willing to listen to customer complaints and direct information to the Shuttle Supervisor.
Must provide, maintain and ensure complete customer service for the all guests and staff members utilizing the service.
May be asked to perform any additional duties and special tasks as assigned
In the absence of the Shuttle Supervisor, all drivers report to the Security Supervisor on duty.

Work Schedule: The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday - 1:30PM - 8:30PM.

Education:

Must be able to pass a criminal background, MVR and drug screen and other requirements set forth by the client
Due to vehicle leasing contract requirements must be at least 21 years of age
Must maintain a valid driver's license at all times
Pass annual / semiannual MVR check
Must complete the Wheelchair Safety Training course provided by Towne Park as applicable
Must possess current Medical Examiners Certificate

Work Experience:
At least three years of commercial driving experience or nine (9) years of driving experience as a licensed driver

After School Program: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Responsibilities:
Safely transport students in grades K-6 to and from their schools.
Ensure a positive and secure environment for all children during transit.
Maintain punctuality and adhere to the assigned schedule.
Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid driver's license.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong commitment to safety and child care.

Qualifications
Must have a valid drivers license.
No high school diploma or GED required
Minimum of three years' driving experience required
Able to safely operate and drive a van and maintain a safe atmosphere on the vehicle at all times
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written communication
Driving roles at this location require additional DOT (Department of Transportation) screening to comply with Ohio DOT regulations.
Physical Requirements
Sufficient vision that is not restricted in the performance of duties, day or night
Able to sit for long periods, and ability to stand and bend
Ability to speak clearly and communicate well and hear the traffic and security radio
