Virginia Union University is seeking a dedicated and experienced Total Wellness Coach Director to lead and oversee the wellness programs and services responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating mental health. This position also includes providing direct intervention services, ensuring a supportive campus environment for student wellness strategic planning, crisis management, and collaboration across multiple university departments.
Responsibilities
* Assist in establishing annual goals for wellness programs and services.
* Oversee and implement mental health and wellness programs, including living-learning activities in collaboration with university departments.
* Develop growth-group activities each semester to support student development.
* Redevelop and manage a comprehensive crisis referral system for the university.
* Conduct intake assessments, individual and group counseling, and provide crisis intervention services.
* Respond to mental health emergencies and crises, including after-hours situations, as needed.
* Maintain and update protocols for responding to mental health crises and emergencies.
* Advise institutional leadership on trends in student mental health and wellness.
* Serve as a liaison to faculty, staff, parents, and external stakeholders regarding student mental health needs.
* Collaborate with other university departments to integrate wellness programs into the broader campus environment.
* Serve on various university committees, including the Crisis Intervention Team, to support student well-being.
* Participate in the development of strategic plans for wellness and student support services.
* Assist in the assessment and evaluation of wellness programs to ensure continuous improvement.
* Provide input on policies and procedures related to student mental health.
* Provide leadership and guidance to staff in the Office of Wellness and Student Support Services.
* Maintain effective relationships with all campus units and external partners to promote wellness initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures regarding student mental health and wellness.
Education
* Master's degree in Counseling, Counseling/Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field.
* 4-6 years of experience in a college or university setting, with significant administrative, clinical, and supervisory experience.
* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

General Description: Position is responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and coaching instruction at a large public high school. Responsibilities may include supervising teams at varsity and junior varsity levels.
Essential Duties:
Under the direction of the Head Coach, assist with planning practices, running practices, and coaching during practices and games.
Communicate expectations to parents and players.
Ensure there are always two coaches at the field.
Attend all practices and games.
Arrange for practices/game coverage if you are unable to attend.
Start and end practices on time. You and other designated coach are always the last to leave the field.
Adhere to school board requirements and recommendations.
Attend all coaches' meetings.
Assist with player selection.
Supervision of team during all activities.
Qualifications: KSA's, Education
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge and advanced strategies of applicable sport. Knowledge of VHSL rules. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to mentor and develop players in a positive way. Desire to teach and improve skill development. Must pass criminal record check.
Education and Experience:
Required: Previous experience as a player and/or coaching at the high school level.
Preferred: Valid teaching license in a high school curriculum area

A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

We are looking for a coach with athletic or coaching experience who ideally has experience coaching kids ages 12 months to 11 years old.
KidStrong Coach would focus on coaching children on brain, physical, and character development that stems from the evolving monthly curriculum
The ideal candidate must also be comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding “the why” behind the KidStrong curriculum
Our classes run typically weekdays, 9 am -11 am and evenings until 7 pm, and weekends are typically from 8 am through lunch/noon.

Kidstrong Childrens Coach Responsibilities:
Coach class sizes of 6 to 15 children, age groups range from roughly 12 months old to 11 years old
Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team
Must be able to ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum
Greet students as well as the parent(s)/guardian(s) individually prior to and at the beginning of class
Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading the class
Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises
Ensure cleanliness of the center, including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift
Effectively use the KS Coach's App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.)
Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers
Complete training through FranConnect as required by the HQ Training and Certification team
Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through class, lifting and repeatedly moving equipment up to 25 pounds in weight.
Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.
Assist parents of students ages three and younger with the direction and flow of a class
Attend monthly center staff programming meetings to receive training for next month's curriculum
Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by the KidStrong Director
Learn and manage Coach KidStrong Academy - special classes held by centers when local schools are not operating (for example Winter Break, Summer Break)
Must obtain certified status by the HQ Training and Certification team
