Each injury that an athlete receives should have first aid attention immediately by the coach or trainer. If there is any question concerning the seriousness of the injury, the athlete should receive medical attention as soon as possible. It is the coach's responsibility to notify the parents and let them assume responsibility as soon as possible. a) Accident Reports. The coach is responsible for completing an Accident Report Form immediately and forwarding it to the school nurse. b) First Aid Kit. Each coach is responsible for having a First Aid Kit available at all contests and practices both home and away. Emergency information should be included in the First Aid Kit. c) If a student has been placed on medical restriction by a physician, he should not be permitted to resume practice or play until the doctor has forwarded a written medical release.
