Under the minimal supervision of the ILS Program Manager, you as a Coach, will manage a caseload of several clients assigned to you by supporting, encouraging, teaching and working with each client individually. You will be working/meeting with clients in their own homes and/or out in the community to help them achieve their goals based on their individual support plan. Some examples of what you might assist/support/teach are functional life skills such as: advocacy, basic cooking, how maintain a home, management of medical appointments and/or medications, how to access or utilize local community/government resources and how to access/utilize the local public transportation system.
This is a part-time position that has the possibility of going to Full-time. After training and learning the position with only a couple clients assigned, it could then move to full-time with a full case load. The schedule would generally be Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm; but can vary depending on the clients' availability/needs. This may require but is not limited to, working early mornings, late evenings, or Saturdays.
In this this position, you are given the general liberty to make your own daily and weekly schedules based on understanding the clients monthly hourly needs and by working with the client's availability and their desired days and times that work best for them. You will be responsible for taking and documenting daily service/case notes and writing quarterly progress reports for the individuals assigned to you. 90% of your the time will be spent in the field working with clients and the other 10% will be administrative work, such as writing reports, documentation, emails, etc. As part of this position, you will also be required to attend monthly training meetings at your closest SYW's branch office and communicate regularly with both your ILS Program Manager and your client's RC service coordinators.
As part of the position, you must be willing to drive your own vehicle from client-to-client's homes when working/meeting with them. The mile radius that you will be required to drive can vary based on the area and where the clients live. Since this position will require you to use your own vehicle and at times transport the client, YOU MUST HAVE- a reliable and safe vehicle, a valid Driver's license, car insurance, and vehicle registration is current.

The Position
The Colleges seek a part-time faculty member in Golf. The ideal candidate will share the Colleges' commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population.
This position is a "pool" position meaning that openings may or may not be currently available. The District maintains a "pool" of applications for positions which are needed on an ongoing basis at Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College. The advantage of "pool" positions is when a position becomes available, the Dean may immediately begin screening applications from the available pool of applicants without having to post a position and wait while the position is being advertised. Reporting to the Dean of Kinesiology, Athletics and Dance, the Women's Golf Coach is a part-time faculty position in the Athletic Department. The assignment entails coaching the Varsity Women's Golf team and all aspects related to the Golf program. Assignment of off-season conditioning and team courses based on applicant meeting minimum qualifications or equivalency in Kinesiology.
Duties and Responsibilities

1. Coach and administer all aspects of the Intercollegiate Women's Golf program

4. Evaluate, plan, and coordinate all programs relevant to the success of student athletes in the Intercollegiate Golf program

8. Assist in the identification, procurement, and inventory of supplies and equipment for the Intercollegiate Women's Golf program

10. Promote the Intercollegiate Women's Golf program within the community and our contiguous recruiting areas through recruiting, public appearances, promotional efforts, community service, camps, clinics, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
* Possession of a Bachelor's degree in physical education or kinesiology AND two years of coaching experience OR an Associate degree AND six years of coaching experience OR the equivalent (see below)

STANDARDS FOR ATHLETIC TEAM COACHES
The following standards are minimum qualifications for applicants to athletic team coach positions in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. Knowledge, training, and demonstrated competency in the following areas are required to qualify for any athletic coach position in the District.
Knowledge and Competencies:
Knowledge and competency related to care and prevention of athletic injuries, basic first aid and emergency procedures which may be evidenced by one or more of the following:
Completion of a college-level course in the care and prevention of athletic injuries and possession of a valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) card
A valid sports injury certificated or first aid card, and a valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) card
A valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) I or II card
2. Coaching Techniques:
The coach shall be knowledgeable in coaching theory and techniques in the sport or game being coached as evidenced by one or more of the following:
Completion of a college course in coaching theory and techniques of the specific sport
Completion of in service programs arranged by a school district or county office of education in the specific sport
Prior services as a student coach or assistant athletic coach in the sport or game being coached
Prior participation in organized competitive athletics at high school level or above in the sport being coached
3. Rules and Regulations in the Athletic Activity Being Coached including:
Training and knowledge of the rules and regulations in the athletic activity being coached and demonstrated ability to communicate those rules and regulations in an effective, respectful manner which instills teamwork, commitment and discipline.
The coach shall have knowledge of the rules and regulations of the North Coast Section pertaining to the sport or game being coached, the league rules, and regulations of the California Interscholastic Federation.
4. Child or Adolescent Psychology, Whichever is Appropriate to the Grade Level of the Involved Activity:
The coach shall have knowledge of child or adolescent psychology as it relates to sports participation as evidenced by one or more of the following:
Completion of a college-level course in child psychology or sports psychology
Completion of a seminar or workshop on human growth and development of youth
Prior active involvement with youth in school or community sports program
Additional Competencies for Non-certificated Personnel
In addition to the competencies listed above, it shall be determined that a non-certificated person employed as a temporary athletic coach:
Has not been convicted of any offense referred to in Education Code 44010, 44011 or 44424, or any offense involving moral turpitude or evidencing unfitness to associate with children
Is free from tuberculosis and any other contagious disease that would prohibit certificated teachers from teaching, as verified by a written statement, renewable every four years, from a licensed physician or other person approved by the district
Has no authority to give grades to students
Shall not assume coaching duties/responsibilities prior to the District receiving fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice
Applicants for athletic team coach positions shall be expected to demonstrate knowledge, training and competency to insure compliance with the following Code of Ethical Conduct. In addition, all athletic team coaches providing supervisory or instructional services in interscholastic athletic programs shall abide by the Code of Ethical Conduct.
