The Head Coach is responsible for administering all facets of the Women's Basketball program's year-round activities, most specifically the instructing, teaching, and coaching of student-athletes. Other duties include, but are not limited to practice organization, competition day preparation, recruiting and evaluation of prospective student-athletes, maintaining gear and equipment inventory, and supervising student-athletes academically and in all athletic activities.
The Head Coach is responsible for evaluating and determining priorities relating to sport budget preparation, equipment purchases, and scheduling. The Head Coach must demonstrate the ability to manage a designated budget through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
The Head Coach must demonstrate concern for student-athlete academic pursuits by adherence to department and University academic policies, as well as initiation of personal academic goals for each student-athlete; academics and student retention is of the upmost importance at FNU.
The Head Coach will select, train, evaluate, supervise, and mentor Assistant Coaches, all Graduate Assistants, Team Managers, volunteers, interns, etc. This requires the ability to delegate responsibility and manage those individuals in completing assigned tasks.
