Mission Statement: Everett Athletics strives to educate and inspire student athletes to be the BEST version of themselves! Responsibilities: As a Head Coach you are directly responsible to both the Principal and the Director of Athletics. The coach of an individual sport must realize that any activity sponsored by EHS Athletics is part of the total program offered by EHS. Individuals in charge of such activities must utilize sound educational principles and goals if athletics are to be a worthwhile part of the overall school program. Some of the duties of the coach shall include: DUTIES Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved. Maintain accurate records of team lists, injury reports, scores of games, stats (report to athletic office and newspapers as requested), incident reports, physical examinations. Be available during the entire school year to lend assistance in guidance and counseling to his/her team members, i.e. scholastic achievement, college entrance, citizenship. Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate. Responsible for determining the athlete's academic eligibility. Be responsible for information contained in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Handbook and the EHS Student Handbook. Oversees the safety conditions of the facility of the area in which the assigned sport is played at all times that students are present. Be present at each practice session and at all contests of the sport coached. This includes supervision, always, of the weight room, locker room and shower areas until the area is secured before and after practices and contests and bus trips. Enforce discipline and always encourage sportsmanship like behavior. These standards are those set down by the Principal and Athletic Department. Attend all Athletic Department and EHS meetings that deal directly with the sport coached. Including MIAA, GBL, Coaches Associations and Athletic Awards meetings. Stay informed of rule changes, trends, and recommendations that affect their sport. Develop an organized written practice plan to include adequate warm-up and cool-down procedures daily. Give personal support to the entire EHS staff, including school principal, school assistant principals and teachers. Establish avenues of communication with other adults to identify potential resources for the enhancement of EHS athletics; Work with community members who are involved in youth sports in order to encourage the young women and young men to continue to participate in sports at the high school level. Organize and instruct clinics for the youth programs and coaches of your individual sport. Directly supervise squad members at home and away contests. Assists in the distribution and collection of all uniforms and equipment. Coaches are responsible for equipment not returned by his team members at the designated time. Organize and post a daily schedule for the team and assistant coaches. Performs all other duties as the principal and or athletic director may deem to be in the best interest of the sport, pupil, and school. QUALIFICATIONS Previous golf coaching experience is desirable. Previous experience in either high school, college or both is desirable. Knowledge of golf and its rules, and ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport. 4. Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues, and other citizens. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college preferred. CPR Certification Completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Class and/or other requirements by the MIAA preferred. Title: Assistant Varsity Football Coach for Fall 2025 Description: To instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success, an increased level of self-esteem, and an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship. Supervision of participants is necessary so that the well-being of the players and the school is preserved. This is a one-year position. Works closely with the Athletic Director in the financing of his/her sport by preparing and submitting an annual budget; follows BPS school committee policies regarding setting funding criteria and handling financial transactions and sets parameters and supervises fundraising efforts for all teams under his/her direction. Maintains accurate statistics, records, and results of the season. Arranges for the presentation of team awards through the Athletic Office. Athletic Behavior/Eligibility Responsibilities Enforces all rules of the MIAA related to his/her sport. Ensures that no bullying/hazing occurs in his/her sport. Establishes performance criteria for participation in interscholastic competition in his/her sport. Checks with Athletic Office on individual athlete's eligibility. Establishes written program expectations. Enforces school's academic expectations; partners with faculty to ensure that student-athletes are academically engaged and successful E. Injury/Safety Cooperates with the Athletic Director to verify that no participant is issued equipment or allowed to practice until his/her physical examination and Baseline concussion testing has been completed Oversees the safety condition of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present. Enforces rules and regulations concerning conditioning of players and their health and safety. Reports injuries to the athletic trainer through personal communication, as well as completing and submitting incident reports to the athletic trainer and Athletic Office. Exercises great care in dealing with all injuries and particularly those that are of a serious nature. In all cases, the coach should assure that the injured athlete is receiving competent medical care. Following injuries of a serious or prolonged nature, the coach should make sure there is a signed approval of the doctor and parent before the student-athlete is allowed to participate in athletic activities. Provides supervision of all athletes until they have left the building and/or site. Ensures that all windows, doors, and gates are locked in any area that has been used. F. Team Activities Plans all practice sessions and competitions, and supervises out-of-season conditioning program. TITLE: LGRAC Intramural Referee DEPARTMENT: Athletics & Recreation SUPERVISOR: Robin Ducharme EXTENSION: 6517 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Referees will be expected to referee intramural or club games, keeping players safe and the games under control. This position also requires referees to act professionally and to serve as role models for the participants. Referees are required to wear referee jerseys when working a game. This position also requires that referees communicate with captains/coaches to ensure games start in a timely manner. QUALIFICATIONS: - must have be very familiar with the rules and regulations of the intramural game being played. The coach of an individual sport must realize that any activity sponsored by EPS Athletics is part of the total program offered by EPS. QUALIFICATIONS Previous flag football coaching experience is desirable. Knowledge of flag football and its rules, and ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport. Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues, and other citizens. CPR Certification The contractual compensation for this position is $719.71 which will be paid in (3) installments.
