Job Title: Assistant Flag Football Coach Department: Athletic Department Reports To: Head Coach, School based Athletic Director, Director of Athletics PURPOSE OF JOB: The assistant coach will assist the head coach with providing a quality middle school activity, for all boys and girls, teaching basic sport fundamentals, while emphasizing sportsmanship and participation by all. The assistant coach is also expected to follow the philosophy set forth by the District Athletic Department. MNU Intramurals Referees are responsible for officiating intramural sports offered at MidAmerica Nazarene University. They report to the ASG Director of Intramurals. They help in providing a safe atmosphere for our students to enjoy playing sports recreationally. Requirements & Responsibilities: Possess knowledge of the Intramural sport for which he/she is refereeing including the sport rules. Participation in that sport is preferred. Ability to communicate with peers in a calm and respectful manner. Respectful for those in authority including the Director of Student Life and the ASG Director of Intramurals. Demonstrate maturity in handling student issues while in competition including negative attitudes, arguing, pushing, aggressive behavior towards a peer, foul language. Provide support for the ASG Director of Intramurals in set up and tear down of sports equipment. People oriented. Able to provide students an opportunity to participate in good completive fun by being fair and consistent including enforcing intramural policies and procedures when needed.
