POSITION SUMMARY: These general functions will be carried out in keeping with the Goals, Policies and Mission of the YMCA of the East Bay. The Small Group Exercise Coach is responsible for teaching group fitness classes to members. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provide highly engaging fitness instruction to members of all fitness levels in group workouts. 2. Provide instruction to members on the safe use of all equipment and workouts. 3. Assists in fitness program and workshop design. 4. Responsible for setting up fitness orientations/coaching sessions for members. 5. Engage by greeting members and providing quality member service. 6. Maintain high standards of communication with supervisor, members, staff and volunteers. 7. Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of all facility and equipment in the Fitness Centers. 8. Responsible for recording information as needed. 9. Respond to emergencies as needed. 10. Make a positive difference in America's youth by coaching youth flag football after-school programs. No previous coaching experience is required - we train all coaches. Do you love working with youth, teaching sports and wellness, and helping others improve? As a Youth Flag Football Coach with ANTS (America's Next Talented Stars), you'll lead or assist one or more weekly after-school flag football programs in our Boys & Girls Club of San Leandro school communities. Our upcoming spring session runs from March 2025 through May 2025 (must be available for the entire season). Time commitment is 2-10 hours per week, depending on how many classes you teach. We provide all necessary training, equipment, and support. Being an ANTS Coach is a great way to learn to coach sports while serving our community.
