Family Visitation Coach

Child and Family Services (C+FS) Family Visitation Program is a coached, supervised visitation program for parents whose children have been placed into the care and custody of other family members/caregivers (kinship caregivers). Our Family Visitation Coaches facilitate scheduled visitation meetings for parents and their child[ren]. The Family Visitation Coach must develop collaborative relationships with parents and assist them in building and practicing appropriate parenting skills and healthy relationships with their child[ren]. This position also provides coaching and support to address any communication or relationship challenges between parents and the family members/caregivers with whom their children to improve outcomes for children and minimize any barriers towards family reunification. This position communicates and collaborates with referral sources to ensure successful service provision and family outcomes. Family Visitation Coaches must have reliable transportation for frequent travel throughout Erie County and be able to work a flexible schedule that includes regular evening and Saturday hours.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
Facilitate initial face to face meetings with parents to explain visit coaching, develop a visit schedule, begin to identify child's needs, and develop a preliminary visit plan
Supervise visits to ensure the safety and well-being of children and to ensure that children's needs are the primary focus of each visit
Meet with parents before each visit to review visit plan and rehearse as needed; meet with parents after each visit to review and develop plans for the next visit
Use coaching, modeling, praising/cheering, rehearsal, and focusing on strengths to assist the parent in recognizing and meeting the needs of their children
Frequently provide transportation to children as needed
Ensure the timely completion of progress notes in the electronic case record following each visit
Attend court hearings and reviews as needed, and complete court reports for the referral source
Oversee scheduling of visitation rooms and responsible for overall upkeep of rooms
Maintain positive working relationships with parents, family resources, children, program staff, and others within the agency. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills during interactions with internal and external customers.
Maintain and submit all required documents and comply with all aspects of the Vehicle Safety and Usage Policy
Maintain a caseload of 10-12 families
Implement interventions and practices outlined in the evidence-based practice of Motivational Interviewing

Hello, Buffalo, NY! Our Cavs Academy Coaching Team is gearing up to hit the road for a summer FULL of youth basketball camps all around the region! As we are scheduled to host multiple camps in the greater Buffalo area this summer (June-Aug 2025), we are seeking individuals local to Buffalo, NY interested in a part-time position helping us run these fun-filled events!
We are seeking those passionate about working with youth; those who put the child first and the sport second. The Cavs Academy Coaching Team works daily to INSPIRE PLAY with the youth of our community, allowing them to grow as individuals and develop athletic characteristics, while learning the FUNdamentals of basketball. We do not require basketball experience (playing or coaching) to succeed on our team; so long as you have experience with youth, we want to talk to YOU!
** Cavs Academy Camps run Monday-Thursday 8:00am-Noon in various gym locations. Working ALL Buffalo based camps is not required, but would be preferred. Part time Coaches may select which weeks works best with their schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide on-court instruction for all Cavs Academy events; including: Cav-a-littles programs for athletes ages 4 - 7, Cavs Academy Camps & Clinics for ages 8-14, and specialized skills trainings.
Assist with community activations, clinics and school events, working with student athletes from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.
Assist with the set-up, execution and tear-down of Cavs Academy and Cav-a-littles camps and clinics.
Help with greeting athletes and families at check in, providing energy and “hype” as they enter the event.
Provide customer service support to all parents, children and spectators.
Collect on-site feedback from parents and encourage completion of event feedback survey.
Source new youth basketball contacts in the community and work to forge new relationships with facilities and coaches.
Provide feedback on current programs and innovative ideas for new ones.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years or older before June 2025.
Currently attending (or recent graduate of) a 4 year Bachelors Degree from an accredited university preferred, not required.
Experience working with youth is required, coaching experience is preferred.
Basketball experience (playing, coaching, admin, etc) is a plus but not required for all positions.
Experience hosting camps, managing tournaments and other sports-related events is preferred.
Experience with Pre-K through 2nd grade aged children is preferred.
Childcare providers, teachers, camp counselors, etc. are encouraged to apply!

Help individuals find ways to stop using (abstinence), or reduce harm associated with addictive behaviors.
Work with individuals/recoverees beyond recovery initiation through stabilization and into recovery maintenance.
Monitor outcomes for treatment, social, and vocational accomplishments.
Complete searches of the patient and building along with providing supervision of urinalysis.
Travel to other Horizon locations within Erie County when needed.

Location:
This position is located at 291 Elm St., Buffalo, NY. You must be willing to travel within Erie County to other Horizon locations.
Hours:
This position is part-time with a schedule of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:30pm-12:00am.
Compensation:
Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $18.60 - $20.65. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.

JOB SUMMARY:
Hello, Buffalo, NY! Our Cavs Academy Coaching Team is gearing up to hit the road for a summer FULL of youth basketball camps all around the region! As we are scheduled to host multiple camps in the greater Buffalo area this summer (June-Aug 2025), we are seeking individuals local to Buffalo, NY interested in a part-time position helping us run these fun-filled events!
We are seeking those passionate about working with youth; those who put the child first and the sport second. The Cavs Academy Coaching Team works daily to INSPIRE PLAY with the youth of our community, allowing them to grow as individuals and develop athletic characteristics, while learning the FUNdamentals of basketball. We do not require basketball experience (playing or coaching) to succeed on our team; so long as you have experience with youth, we want to talk to YOU!
Cavs Academy Camps run Monday-Thursday 8:00am-Noon in various gym locations. Working ALL Buffalo based camps is not required, but would be preferred. Part time Coaches may select which weeks works best with their schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide on-court instruction for all Cavs Academy events; including: Cav-a-littles programs for athletes ages 4 - 7, Cavs Academy Camps & Clinics for ages 8-14, and specialized skills trainings.
* Assist with community activations, clinics and school events, working with student athletes from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.
* Assist with the set-up, execution and tear-down of Cavs Academy and Cav-a-littles camps and clinics.
* Help with greeting athletes and families at check in, providing energy and "hype" as they enter the event.
* Provide customer service support to all parents, children and spectators.
* Collect on-site feedback from parents and encourage completion of event feedback survey.
* Source new youth basketball contacts in the community and work to forge new relationships with facilities and coaches.
* Provide feedback on current programs and innovative ideas for new ones.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be 18 years or older before June 2025.
* Currently attending (or recent graduate of) a 4 year Bachelors Degree from an accredited university preferred, not required.
* Experience working with youth is required, coaching experience is preferred.
* Basketball experience (playing, coaching, admin, etc) is a plus but not required for all positions.
* Experience hosting camps, managing tournaments and other sports-related events is preferred.
* Experience with Pre-K through 2nd grade aged children is preferred.
* Childcare providers, teachers, camp counselors, etc. are encouraged to apply!
* Strong and commanding presence on the court; ability to draw attention from a large group of youth and keep engaged.
* Punctual and reliable: must be on time to events as scheduled.
* Must have reliable transportation.
* Strong communicator: ability to meet athletes where they are and learn to communicate with them as needed as well as ability to communicate with parents.
* Emotionally Intelligent: lead with empathy and awareness at all times.
* Enthusiastic and Energetic: passion for FUN and ability to maintain for duration of events.
* Knowledge of the Game: familiarity with basic basketball skills and terminology.

Varsity Crew Assistant Coach

The Nichols Crew is looking for two varsity assistants for this spring. The role would be to coach a boat on the water at practice, including developing a training plan and executing that plan. The role also involves supervising the team on road trips, on buses and at hotels.
The assistant coach will also help with various duties on regatta days including, but not limited to, launching and landing boats, planning race strategies, and supervising athletes during their time off the water.
