PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Successfully completed CPI training and holds and maintains CPI certification; Experience in working with students across grade levels ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works with the teacher to implement new programming for identified students (e.g., incorporating new supports for transitions, establishing and maintaining work behaviors, social understanding and assisting in behavior control which may include physical redirection). Works with teacher to assist a new student as he/she adjusts to a new school or classroom situation. Implements new modifications and/or materials. Demonstrates appropriate strategies and techniques for working with behavioral difficulties, as needed. Assists special programs students in regular classrooms with academic modifications. Assists the classroom teacher with physical education, adapted physical education and community-based instruction. Coordinates, assists, and facilitates student transitions between classes; assists students by providing adapted living skills and/or special health care needs, including and not limited to: Personal hygiene, restroom functions, diapering, etc.; Mobility assistance including lifting, positioning or transferring student; Activities related to seizure control; Feeding needs; Adaptive equipment needs such as wheelchairs, crutches, prosthetic devices, orthotic devices, hearing aids, braille, assistive listening devices (ADL), AAC devices, and other technology equipment; Behavioral assistance and CPI skills. Pay is hourly and varies based on experience. While indicating your availability does not guarantee assignment for all requested dates, scheduling preference is given to coaches who can commit to working all sessions. English Language Coaches working with the Intensive English Program (IEP) at NC State University are responsible for meeting one-on-one and in-person with assigned IEP students. IEP English language coaching assignments might include meeting with current undergraduate or graduate students, current IEP-Academic students, or members of the local community. This position is housed in the IEP and will report to the IEP director. Successful candidates will possess: * excellent oral and written English communication skills, * proven knowledge of second language acquisition * strong organizational skills * proven ability to work with a diverse international population. Job Title: Varsity Head Coach/Mens Soccer (Fall) Benefits: None Reports To: The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the principal. Qualifications: * Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program. * Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport. (Major sports) * The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field. * The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions. Supervises: In several instances, the head coach must advise, coordinate and support a staff of high school assistant coaches and middle school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and respective principal. Job Goal: To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes. Administrative Duties: * Assists the athletic director in scheduling, providing transportation and requirements for tournament and special sport events. * Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times. * Coordinates program with maintenance and school employees. * Provides documentation to fulfill state and system requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent and eligibility. * Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment sites. * Advises the athletic director and recommends policy, method or procedural changes. Student Responsibilities: * Serves as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration in student athletes the character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. * Gives constant attention to a student athlete's grades and conduct. * By his/her presence at all practices games and while traveling, provides assistance, guidance and safeguards for each participant. * Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is considered a participant. * Initiates programs and policies concerning injuries, medical attention and emergencies. * Completes paperwork on all disabling athletic injuries on proper forms and submits to athletic office within 24 hours. * Directs student managers, assistants and statisticians. * Determines discipline, delineates procedures concerning due process when the enforcement of discipline is necessary and contracts parents when a student is dropped or becomes ineligible. * Assists athletes in their college or advanced educational selection.
