Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Telephonic (audio and visual) health coaching, which includes contacting eligible and enrolled participants in one or more of our coaching programs, establishing a call schedule that meets the needs of the participant, and ensuring all efforts are made to contact participants within client specific guidelines
Responsible for understanding the specific program and following the guidelines of each client
Support health promotion and wellness programs aimed at encouraging members to adopt healthy lifestyles by actively participating in wellness activities
Provide assessment, health education, and behavior change counseling using a collaborative approach to facilitate change
Inspire members to build healthy habits using behavior change coaching principles
Leads with humility, charity, perseverance, relationships, engagement, and responsibility to create an inspiring, fun, and healthy work environment
Coordinate information to clinical team partners
Maintenance of confidentiality and privacy of protected health information (PHI) utilizing safeguards as described under the HIPAA guidelines and inputting information into multiple documentation systems
Must stay within health coach training and scope of practice - when necessary, refer to internal client resources such as EAP or other programs and/or external resources such as health care provider
Continual education and/or learning on health behavior change theories, counseling, interviewing techniques, strategies and application required
Must adhere to quality of standards of Asset Health Inc. coaching programs
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
A bachelor's degree or higher in health and wellness-related field and/or current nursing license (health education, health promotion, nutrition, exercise science/physiology, nursing, counseling, etc.)
Health coaching certification and experience coaching on health topics such as nutrition, exercise, alcohol, tobacco cessation, stress reduction and resiliency training, weight management, cholesterol, hypertension, chronic conditions, etc.
Currently hold or plan to obtain a certification from The National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC)
Preferred
Training/education in behavior change, motivational interviewing
Personal training or fitness certification
Nutrition certification or Registered Dietitian
Tobacco cessation training/certification
Telephonic coaching experience

Summer Camp Coaches will be responsible for coaching at Detroit Lions Summer Youth Football Camps throughout the state of Michigan.
