Minimum Required Education and Experience
At least three years of experience in coaching at the intercollegiate level is strongly preferred, however, extensive player experience at the collegiate level can be substituted for the coaching experience. The Instructional Coach will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning and teacher practice. The Instructional Coach will focus on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding of researched-base effective instruction for teachers
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience
Bachelor's level degree or above and an active Educator's license required
Successful coaching or teacher leadership experience preferred
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Successful coaching or teacher leadership experience
Demonstrated knowledge of North Carolina Standard Course of Study in
assigned content areas.
Experience in researched-based instructional practices.
Data-driven instruction (teaching/learning process) * Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building an environment that maintains a common instructional focus
Ability to promote initiatives and convey expectations in a professional manner
Ability to design and deliver quality professional development for staff
Exemplary presentation and facilitation skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in print
